The Motivation of the Main Characters to Cherish Their Life as Seen in John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars. The writer discusses the main characters’ motivation Hazel Grace and Augustus Waters in John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars. The novel tells about life, death and love of Hazel and Augustus. Hazel is sixteen years old girl who has tyroid cancer, while Augustus is seventeen years ols boy who also has osteosarcoma. They met in a support group of cancer and fell in love with each other. They have dream together that make them feel strong and encouraged to live their life in order to face their illness. The writer analyzes the motivation of the main characters to hold their dream and love. There are two formulated problems to analyze the motivation of the main characters. The first is to find out the
