Divine Mercy Holy Hour
Divine Mercy Holy Hour Sunday of the Twenty-ninth Week in Ordinary Time Holy Hour to the Divine Mercy Entrance Hymn: Come Holy Ghost Come Holy Ghost, Creator blest, And in our hearts take up thy rest; Come with Thy grace and heav’nly aid To fill the hearts which Thou hast made, To fill the hearts which Thou hast made. O Comfort blest, to thee we cry, Thou heav’nly Gift of God most High; Thou Font of life, and Fire of love, And sweet Anointing from above, And sweet Anointing from above. Praise be to Thee, Father and Son, And Holy Spirit, Three in One; And may the Son on us bestow The gifts that from the Spirit flow, The gifts that from the Spirit flow. 2 Exposition: (please kneel as the Celebrant approaches the tabernacle) O Salutaris Hostia O salutaris Hostia, quæ cæli pandis ostium: Bella premunt hostilia, da robur, fer auxilium. Uni trinoque Domino sit sempiterna gloria, Qui vitam sine termino nobis donet in patria. Amen. Adoration:(a few minutes of silent reflection) Scripture Reading: (please stand) (1Thessalonians 1:5-8)) For our gospel did not come to you in word alone but also in power and in the holy Spirit and with much conviction. You know what sort of people we were among you for your sake. And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, receiving the word in great affliction, with joy from the holy Spirit, so that you became a model for all believers in Macedonia and in Achaia. For from you the word of the Lord has sounded forth not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but in every place your faith in God has gone forth, so that we have no need to say anything. -

Saturday, February 13 2021 6th Sunday in Ordinary Time Sunday, February 14, 2021 MEMORARE STANDING Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen. Assembly: I confess to almighty God and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned, in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do, And, striking their breast, they say: through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault; therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin, all the Angels and Saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God. -
R.E. Prayer Requirement Guidelines
R.E. Prayer Requirement Guidelines This year in the Religious Education Program we are re-instituting Prayer Requirements for each grade level. Please review the prayers required to be memorized, recited from text, \understood, or experienced for the grade that you are teaching (see p. 1) Each week, please take some class time to work on these prayers so that the R.E. students are able not only to recite the prayers but also to understand what they are saying and/or reading. The Student Sheet (p. 2) will need to be copied for each of your students, the student’s name placed on the sheet, and grid completed for each of the prayers they are expected to know, or understand, or recite from text, or experience. You may wish to assign the Assistant Catechist or High School Assistant to work, individually, with the students in order to assess their progress. We will be communicating these prayer requirements to the parents of your students, and later in the year, each student will take their sheet home for their parents to review their progress. We appreciate your assistance in teaching our youth to know their prayers and to pray often to Jesus… to adore God, to thank God, to ask God’s pardon, to ask God’s help in all things, to pray for all people. Remind your students that God always hears our prayers, but He does not always give us what we ask for because we do not always know what is best for others or ourselves. “Prayer is the desire and attempt to communicate with God.” Remember, no prayer is left unanswered! Praying with Mary
PRAYING WITH MARY MY PRAYER I Started Praying with Mary and This is What Happened by SARAH MCMAHON For a long time, I faked having a relationship with Mary. Even after I had a relationship with God, and leadership roles at my parish I just didn’t give it much thought. I didn’t even know how to correctly say the rosary until I did summer missions in college. So many women in my life told me about their incredible devotion to Our Lady and I just didn’t get it. I thought maybe Mary picked favorites. That some people could have a relationship with her, and some people just didn’t make the cut. I figured I would just keep praying the same way I always had and if Mary wanted to pick me, she would. I did the consecration to Jesus through Mary for the first time my sophomore year of college. Even then, nothing really seemed to click for me. I posted a photo at the end of it that made me look super cool and Marian grace filled but in reality, I didn’t feel like anything had changed. My roommate had an incredible relationship with Mary and that added to the mystery surrounding Our Blessed Mother for me. I wanted the relationship my roommate had but had no idea how to get there. After many rosaries, consecrations, and discussions, it ended up just being the Holy Spirit that led me to Mary. Go figure. I was in the chapel after a particularly frustrating few months in my relationship with the Lord. -

Opening of the Year of the Eucharist – June 22-23, 2019
Opening of the Year of the Eucharist – June 22-23, 2019 This Novena prayed nine days before the June 23rd start would be a great way to make immediate preparation for the Year of the Eucharist. The novena would begin on June 14. The link is here: http://www.ewtn.com/Devotionals/novena/Corpus_Christi.htm In the Masses you celebrate on June 22-23, we would suggest the following rituals to open the Year of Eucharist. 1. Gather the faithful outside the main door of the church, weather permitting. * a. Give a brief explanation of the Year of the Eucharist. Share with the faithful that this moment of processing is a symbolic way of entering the Year of the Eucharist. (sample of an explanation is attached) b. Read the decree (attached) c. Process in with a Eucharistic Hymn of your choosing from the resources you have available. d. Carry in the Year of the Eucharist banner. After the processional, have the banner carrier hang the banner on the main door of the parish church. Hooks are provided with the banner and should be attached to the door ahead of time. Additional banners can be ordered. Contact Dionne Eastmo in the Faith Formation Office. 2. Have the parishioners pray the sequence for the Feast of Corpus Christi. You could also sing it although there is no familiar melody available. (The text of the sequence is attached.) 3. Preach about the Year of the Eucharist focusing on the bishop’s desire to deepen and strengthen the faithful’s encounter with the Lord in the celebration of the Mass. -

Novena for Vocations (PDF)
Novena for Vocations A novena is a special form of prayer, where on nine successive days, a prayer is said for some special occasion or intention. The practice of saying novenas is scripturally based, modeled after the nine days of consecutive prayer that the apostles, Blessed Mother, and other followers of Jesus prayed together in the upper room between Jesus’ ascension into heaven and the decent of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. Prayed in communion with the saints, novenas often petition the intercession of specially selected saints (our exemplary role models in faithful living). Let us pray together, with the angels and saints, for an increase in vocations to the priesthood and religious life. Let us also pray for all the vocations: for holy marriages in the Church, for deacons, and those that dedicate their lives to Christ in the single life. May the Lord of the harvest send many to work in His vineyard! Day 1: Sunday St. Rubin and St. Edward With special focus on the virtues of purity and chastity Saint Rubin of Syria and Saint Edward the Confessor, I implore your intercession today for an increase in vocations to the priesthood and religious life. St. Rubin, you stood atop a pillar preaching, fasting, and praying with complete abandonment of self. St. Edward, first English king to attain sainthood, you ruled with renowned piety and generosity, despite the dark times of treachery and greed in which you lived, and remained chaste throughout your life. May your examples of piety, chastity, and selfless devotion to Christ, our youth and to an ever deepening devotion to Christ and the Church. -
