  • Benefice Profile 2019
The Benefice of Walton and Trimley Benefice Profile 2019 Welcome and Introduction Welcome to the Benefice of Walton and Trimley and our profile. The Benefice is situated near the end of a peninsula bordered by the river Deben to the north, the river Orwell to the south and the North Sea to the east. Walton originally spanned a large area adjacent to a small fishing hamlet known as Felixstowe, with the Trimleys being slightly further inland. Today Walton and Trimley are considered to be on the outskirts of the town of Felixstowe. The Benefice was formed in 2014 from the parishes of St Mary’s Walton and St Martin’s and St Mary’s Trimley. Each church is happy and active but with its own identity. Both churches are central parts of the community around them and have church families with a heart and a desire for bringing Jesus to the people of their parish and sharing His love for them. The two parishes work closely together, they have equal and separate PCCs but do come together as a Benefice PCC three times a year. Each PCC contributes towards the Parish Share so that as a Benefice this is paid in full. The Benefice churches belong to and support Churches Together in Felixstowe which links the Christian witness in the town and provides joint ventures in which many members of the church families participate. These includes events during Unity Week, a procession of witness from St Mary’s church to the town centre on Good Friday where a united service is held and a ‘Son Rise’ service on Easter Sunday morning at the beach.

  • July 2004 Ust 2003
The occasional Newsletter of Trimley St Martin Parish Council July 2004 ust 2003 From the Chair Welcome to another edition of the Parish Pump. For all of you waiting for news of any future planning in the village there have been no new or revised visions since the last newsletter, in fact the whole planning process seems to be lumbering very slowly while central government decides on want it wants. In the meantime all we can do is to prepare ourselves and wait. I know STAG have been active in this way and the Council received a large bound document containing all the signatures against development in the Trimley’s. The feelings of the majority of parishioners should now be well known by those who will have to make decisions. Being fortunate enough to live and work in the village it always amazes me at this time of year how beautiful the trees and hedgerows look. I know many of us leave very busy lives but there are miles of public footpaths in the village and it is worth getting out and walking some of them to appreciate what it is that many villagers are anxious to preserve. Trimley St Martin still has beautiful views across two separate river valleys and more areas of peace and solitude than you might imagine. The Council has two projects running at the moment related to the environment mentioned later, the ongoing Rivercare with Keith and the hedgerow survey with Berridge. Finally we have very recently had a meeting with the Port of Felixstowe to discuss improvements to the Dock Spur roundabout.

  • Draft Map Book Part 1
This document accompanies the Draft Strategic Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (July 2018) (Draft SHELAA), which should be referred to alongside the maps contained in this document. The term ‘potential site’ relates to those identified as suitable, available and achievable in the Draft SHELAA. Identification as a potential site through the SHELAA process does not afford a site any planning status. The SHELAA is a technical document used to identify potentially suitable sites which are then considered further for allocation in the Local Plan. • From the Horse's Mouth
From the Horse's Mouth The Parish Newsletter of Trimley St. Mary Spring/Summer 2012 www.trimley-st-mary.org.uk THE WELCOME HALL, TRIMLEY ST MARY “Your” Community Building The Welcome Hall has kept the Committee very busy this year. A decision was taken to redecorate and refurbish this Community building. The Community Payback Teams have been redecorating the Main Hall, kitchen and front and rear entrances. This follows on from the installation of new windows and both give the Hall a very much more welcoming appearance. The work is still ongoing at this time but it is hoped that all will be completed inside shortly. A new fence has been erected at the rear of the Hall and the railings at the front will be repainted by the Teams. Refurbishment will carry on as a continuing theme. If you have any particular skills, some spare time or any items, that you think would be useful towards this end, the Committee would be pleased to hear from you. Various activities take place on a regular basis at the Hall, if you care to join in. It is also available for private hire. Anybody interested in hiring the Welcome Hall should contact the Booking Secretary, Jan Willis on 01394 211120. 1 Since the report in the previous newsletter the Parish Council has continued to try to make progress towards reducing traffic noise for residents closest to the A14. Predictably we find there is no straightforward solution. On March 2nd representatives of both Trimley Parish Councils, Suffolk Coastal District Council as the planning authority and the Port of Felixstowe walked the length of the most affected areas.
