The Azerbaijan International . Telecommunications and Information Technologies Exhibition and Conference, Bakutel 2016 kicked off on November 29 at Baku Expo Centre. As is tradition, Bakutel initiated the start of ICT Week in Azerbaijan, which is a remarkable event for specialists. This is where we all will plunge into the world of technology and see how the Hi-Tech industry will evolve in the near future. The press conference was attended by Elmir Velizade, Deputy Minister of Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan Republic; Bahruz Hidayatzadeh, Executive Director of Caspian Event Organisers; Ziver Mammadova, project manager. More than 20 media representatives attended the press-conference. During the press conference journalists were informed about the innovations, participants and statistics. A VIP tour of the exhibition, headed by the Minister of Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan Ramin Guluzade, took place today at the Baku Expo Centre. He then visited a number of other stands including the national stand of the UAE. The President Ilham Aliyev familiarized himself with the stands of the exhibition and national pavilions organised with the support of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan has already become a good tradition at Bakutel. This year nine countries, including Austria, Belarus, Iran, Italy, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Turkey, Croatia and France will, alongside the presentations of products and ICT services, present leading companies from their native countries and projects innovative not only for Azerbaijan, but for the entire Caspian region at their national stands. Exhibition events Ministerial Meeting on the project Trans-Eurasian Information Super Highway (TASIM) was held within the framework of BakuTel-2016. Project Trans-Eurasian Information Super Highway (TASIM) is a project of regional importance, whose aim is laying a transnational fiber-optic line covering the countries of Eurasia from Western Europe to Eastern Asia.
