CRICKET MEMORABILIA SOCIETY POSTAL AUCTION CLOSING AT NOON 10th JULY 2020 Conditions of Postal Sale The CMS reserves the right to refuse items which are damaged or unsuitable, or we have doubts about authenticity. Reserves can be placed on lots but must be agreed with the CMS. They should reflect realistic values/expectations and not be the “highest price” expected. The CMS will take 7% of the price realised, the vendor 93% which will normally be paid no later than 6 weeks after the auction. The CMS will undertake to advertise the memorabilia for auction on its website no later than 3 weeks prior to the closing date of the auction. Bids will only be accepted from CMS members. Postal bids must be in writing or e-mail by the closing date and time shown above. Generally, no item will be sold below 10% of the lower estimate without reference to the vendor.. Thus, an item with a £10-15 estimate can be sold for £9, but not £8, without approval. The incremental scale for the acceptance of bids is as follows: £2 increments up to £20, then £20/22/25/28/30 up to £50, then £5 increments to £100 and £10 increments above that. So, if there are two postal bids at £25 and £30, the item will go to the higher bidder at £28. Should there be two identical bids, the first received will win. Bids submitted between increments will be accepted, thus a £52 bid will not be rounded either up or down. Trawden Forest Neighbourhood Plan (2018-2030) Final Version Trawden Forest Parish Council Autumn 2018 Foreword This Neighbourhood Plan sets out planning policies for the parish of Trawden Forest. It has been developed with the involvement of local people to ensure that they have a say in how their parish will develop up to 2030. It adds detail to the Pendle Local Plan and will be used alongside it to help determine planning applications in the parish. The Trawden Forest Neighbourhood Plan is the responsibility of Trawden Forest Parish Council and has been developed by a Steering Group consisting of Parish Council members and other volunteers, with professional advice from Pendle Council’s Planning Department. It has been supported by Pendle Borough Council and received financial support from the Government’s Neighbourhood Planning Grant Scheme. One of the main objectives of the Neighbourhood Plan is to direct the amount of housing to be built in Trawden up to 2030 – a figure established in the Pendle Local Plan – to the most appropriate and sustainable locations within the Parish. Where possible the sites selected will help to protect and enhance existing infrastructure assets and provide a positive benefit to residents. As you read through the Plan, you will see how this can be achieved. There is however, much more to a Neighbourhood Plan than housing development. In the questionnaire delivered to every household in September 2016 we asked local residents for their hopes, concerns and ideas for the parish, both now and in the future. From these responses we identified several areas of importance to local people. -
Bill Alley 1919-2004
Bill Alley 1919-2004 • Played 1st Grade for Petersham and 12 matches for NSW • Professional boxer, winning his first 28 fights • Played County cricket for Somerset • Umpired 10 Test matches Bill Alley was a “legend” as a cricketer. Strangely for this left hand batsman and right arm medium pace bowler, his legendary status was earned in England after a solid grounding playing 12 times for New South Wales scoring three centuries. William Edward Alley was born at Hornsby on 3 February 1919 and went to school at Brooklyn near the Hawkesbury. His first job was on an oyster farm. He joined the Northern District Club and made his 1st Grade debut in 1938-39. After five seasons transferred to Petersham. In his early days with Petersham, he travelled to Sydney each Saturday morning returning on the paper train later that night or early Sunday morning. He was also an outstanding boxer who won his first 28 fights when he turned professional. A mishap in the nets while practising with Petersham where he sustained a broken jaw put paid to his boxing career however, and he thereafter concentrated on cricket. In his first season in 1943-44 with Petersham he scored 1,413 runs which remained the Sydney 1st Grade record for 63 years. He scored six centuries that season including tons against University (141*), North Sydney (119), Wests (100) and Mosman (111*) in successive matches. His best score was against Randwick when he hit 230 not out including 12 sixes and 21 fours with his first 100 coming in 59 minutes. -

CORPORATE PEER CHALLENGE ACTION PLAN The Strategic Director submitted a report on progress made against the delivery of the Corporate Peer Challenge Action Plan, which was devised to deal with the issues raised by the Peer Team. The Action Plan had been endorsed by Council on 23rd March, 2016 and 6 monthly progress reports would be submitted to the Executive. Representatives of the original Peer Team were due to visit the Council on 25th November, 2016. During their visit they will review the action plan developed from their findings and recommendations in their detailed report and the progress made to date in addressing these. Executive (22.09.2016) RESOLVED That the Action Plan be submitted to Council for information. REASON The Corporate Peer Challenge forms part of the Council’s continuous improvement plan. 60. It reflects current best practice and replaces the previous Open Space Audit published in 2008. The accompanying Green Infrastructure Strategy explores the multifunctional role of open space in greater detail. The sites identified in the OSA 2019 provide space for sport, recreation and leisure, nature conservation, civic occasions and community events. The key benefits they provide are listed below: • Encourages increased levels of physical activity • Improves mental health • Provides opportunities to connect with the natural environment • Offers space for local food production • Creates a greener and more pleasant environment • Helps to combat a range of environmental problems including air quality, flooding and climate change. -

Pendle Local List of Heritage Assets – Version 2, 27th January 2021 Trawden Forest Proposed Entries for the List This document has been prepared by a group of parishioners on behalf of Trawden Forest Parish Council. The Trawden Forest Neighbourhood Plan, which was ‘made’ by Pendle Council early in 2019, included a Policy (6) which protects the parish’s Heritage Assets. The principal focus of that Policy is the protection of non-designated heritage assets, and when the Neighbourhood Plan was being developed it was decided that this protection should be achieved by means of a Local List of these assets. The development of a Local List was discussed with Pendle Council in May 2018 and it was agreed that once a comprehensive list of Trawden Forest’s Heritage Assets had been compiled, Pendle would review it and take the proposal through to committee for approval. As early as 2005 Pendle Council intended to set up a Local List for the borough, and one of the steps towards this was the commissioning of a study of Trawden Forest Conservation Area by Friends of Pendle Heritage Archaeological Group. Their report was published in January 2005. That report (An Assessment of the Special Historic and Architectural Interest, Character and Appearance of the Trawden Forest Conservation Area) contained the following paragraph: Pendle Council does not have a formal list of local buildings of interest but intends to draw up a list through the process of surveying its area in partnership with Parish Councils. This is outlined in the Council document Laying Foundations – Built Heritage Strategy. -
