The Amur Leopard and Tiger Alliance (ALTA) focuses on this critically endangered species and how to help them in their native lands. Burrowing owl Athene cunicularia The homes of these owls are actually burrows made by ground squirrels or prairie dogs that have been abandoned or taken over by the owls.
