The U-lt boys participating in this year's edition ofSubroto Cup would vie to be part of the then Indian U-17 team competing in the world cup. Initially it was called the Chandigarh Football Academy (CFA) was started in August, 2000 with the induction of 24 young boys of 9-10 years of age. In August 2002 the Department took another leap by instituting Chandigarh Hockey Academy (CHA) for 24 boys in the age group of 11-12 years. Since then the academy has been renamed as the “Chandigarh Football and Hockey Academy".
