The netball and football recruiting groups have been proactive, bringing new faces into the club to ensure all our teams, netball & football, junior & senior, are ready to go for round 1! Developing our coaching staff is part of the clubs strategic plan, and having experi- enced people come and run courses, share their training concepts and mingle with our community. The first of these is our MICK MCGUANE day. (Details of his visit are on the following page).

For the netball coaches, Netball Operations Manager Casey McGillivray has organ-

ised a Development Coach Accreditation Course for all netball coaches and their as-

sistants. Over on the courts for season 2020, the netballers will be wearing a fabulous new dress design which will compliment the football jumpers. Our Goulburn Campapse Junior Football will also be wearing the same style jumper; adding to the unity of the LG teams. Before round 1 can commence, we are looking to appoint individuals or a crew of people to assist with weekly roles. If anyone would like a more detailed list of re- sponsibilities please contact club secretary Tina Prout.

‘LUNCH WITH MICK MCGUANE’

The Leitchville Gunbower FNC would like to extend an invitation to the community and club persons to come and enjoy a pleasant Sunday at the Gunbower Complex with Collingwood Champion Mick McGuane on Sunday 16th February, from 12.30pm.

Mick debut with Collingwood in 1987 playing an integral role in the 1990 drought breaking premiership. Mick won the in 1992 & 1993 and was names as an All Australian in 1992. He is well remembered for his famous run in 1994 taking 7 bounces before slotting one of the games’ greatest ever goals. After playing under & at Collingwood, he crossed to Carlton in 1997 under . Injury kept Mick to 3 games with Carlton tak- ing his AFL career record to 155 games & 129 goals. Post playing Mick has developed into one of the games’ most astute coaches and media personalities and currently writes for the Herald Sun. Mick has coached at high levels, at numerous clubs, in various leagues; winning many premierships and has been reappointed at Keilor until 2021.

Come and enjoy a light lunch commencing at 12.30, as you listen to Mick describe his colourful career in playing, coaching & media coverage of our great game.

EOI... in 2020 LGFNC are looking to have a number of ‘welfare heroes’ around the club. ‘SALT’ who conducted some player sessions in 2019 will assist in the training of these welfare officers. The welfare heroes will be first line volun- teers who will be a point of contact for anyone within our club who is strug- gling with personal issues such as mental illness, financial or family worries. Heroes will be the first line contact-they can point people to resources wh We are looking for a variety of people (around 6-8) to form part of this group. Male and female, players, parents, supporters are all welcome to apply.
