Team Information Head Coach Doug Sandburg - [email protected] Assistant Coaches Sidney Fraley- [email protected] Where We Practice Falcon Lakes Built in 2002 and designed by renowned architect Jay Morrish, Falcon Lakes offers a links-style layout with gracious zoysia fairways, continuous concrete cart paths, and bent grass, softly undulating greens that average over 6,000 sq. ft. in size. Multiple tee decks on every hole provide a range of play from 5,200 to 7,100 yards in length, making the course a challenge to golfers of all skill levels. Recently named one of Kansas City's top 3 public courses, Falcon Lakes is always maintained to tournament conditions! Falcon Lakes' premier practice facility provides the dedicated or warm-up player with a zoysia grass hitting area, a bent grass chipping green with green-side bunkers and a multi-tiered putting green. Sunflower Hills One of the most challenging and yet affordable courses in the Kansas City area, Sunflower Hills opened on May 10, 1977. Sunflower Hills is an 18 hole championship Golf course designed by renowned architect Roger Packard. Golfers of all skill levels will in enjoy this challenging course. Sunflower Hills is long and hilly and features large greens. Many trees make control and accuracy important parts of a good round. Sunflower Hills also offers one of the newest and best junior facilities in the Kansas City area. The Junior golf course features six holes with three sets of tees, driving range, putting green and practice bunker. A remodel in 2003 included installation of zoysia fairways, new cart paths, and a new irrigation system. Sunflower Hills is open year round and is located adjacent to the Kansas Speedway, Village West and is just minutes from downtown Kansas City, MO. Dubs Dread Since its inaugural round in the early 1960's, Dub's Dread has hosted several high profile matches between historic golfers such as Jug McSpaden (our course architect), Byron Nelson, Sam Snead, Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus. Walk in their footsteps at this historic golfing landmark that was named one of the Top 10 Golf Courses in the state by Golf Digest in 1996. Known for its superb design, premier playing conditions and outstanding service, Dub's Dread is a local favorite and must play for area visitors. Orginally built as the longest golf course in the world, the course plays a bit shorter now with yardages ranging from 5,400 yards to as long as 7,100 yards. Smileys In business since 1948, Smiley's Golf Complex has been serving the Kansas City area for over 55 years. Smiley's mission is to be the area's premier golf facility by providing it's customers with a full range of practice, playing, and entertainment options. Golf Range Magazine has rated Smiley's in the "Top 100 Ranges in America" for the last 10 years. Smiley's Golf Complex is open year round for your practice pleasure. The driving range even includes heated and protected stalls for those cold winter days. Eagle Bend Eagle Bend is the first golf course owned and operated by the City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department. The course was voted as one of the top three golf courses in Kansas by the Kansas City Star in 2003, and has been named as a Places to Play by Golf Digest. The first six holes on the course are open with no trees.The remaining holes are heavily wooded and sit in the shadow of the Wakarusa River. Eagle Bend's amenities include 18 holes of championship golf, a full-service pro shop, snack bar, driving range, a short iron range, practice putting and chipping greens, club repair and custom club fitting and golf instruction by PGA professionals. .
