Abstract Rigorous utilization of chemical fertilizers, monoculture and irrigation with surface saline water is globally deteriorating the quality of surface soil. In present work, the halo and alkalo tolarent bacterium strain isolated from extreme environment, was explored for producing plant growth hormones, that could be used for salt stress up gradation of the crops. The 16S rRNA gene sequencing was used for analysis of salt tolerant bacterium. The bacterium was identified as Pseudomonas aeruginosa KP163922.
