Last, but not least, please check out the TAKE ACTION page on our Illinois DU Specialty License plates. $25 from every Illinois DU Specialty License plate goes to directly into our conservation work here in Illinois. In 2014, we put $27k in DU license plate revenue to work by adding $63k in matching funds for a total investment of over $90k towards habitat in Illinois. Thank you and see you at the 2016 State Convention! Bill State Plan Performance Event • Goal --> +5% (1,403) Attendance • A/O Dec 31 --> +1.8% (476) • Goal --> +5% (106) Sponsors • A/O Dec 31 --> -0.2% (-5) New vs Lost • Goal --> Positive Growth Business • A/O Dec 31 --> +$150k • Goal --> +5% Recruitment • A/O Dec 31 --> +7.1% (213) • Goal--> 60% D Event Event Efficiency • A/O Dec 31--> TBD I would like to take this opportunity to bring everyone up to speed on our State's progress calendar year to date in key event membership, new vs lost income, and strengthening existing event (recruitment and leadership development). Event membership is up 1,870 or 7.1% over last year. In new vs lost business, we've cancelled $69k of business but are projecting $197k in new business by the end of the calendar year. Our existing events are up by 194 volunteers; a 6.5% increase over last year. TAKE ACTION! Recent legislation signed into law by Govenor Rauner calls for the use of a universal specialty plate with an organizational sticker that would be specific to each cause/organization. Our IL DU specialty plate (along with the other 108 existing plates) was grandfathered under the law so that the Secretary of State (SOS) would keep offering and issuing existing specialty plates for sale. The only caveat is that we must sell at least 1,000 plates per year. If we fall below 1,000 plates for 2 consecutive years, the SOS's office may pull all existing IL DU specialty plates off the road and replace them with the universal specialty plate with a DU sticker. I believe this part of the law goes into effect in 2016. According to the SOS's office, we currently have 578 IL DU specialty plates on the road. To get your DU license plate, go to http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/ and click on "Pick-A-Plate" to order your DU license plate today. • Marketing and Communications Plan for the Golden Corridor Advanced
Marketing and Communications Plan Golden Corridor Advanced Manufacturing Partnership January 2014 CMAP would like to thank the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for funding the development and production of this document. This project is funded through HUD’s Sustainable Communities Regional Planning grant, which supports CMAP’s Local Technical Assistance (LTA) program. Introduction To address current and looming workforce challenges facing the manufacturers in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, the Golden Corridor Advanced Manufacturing Partnership (GCAMP) is focused on changing the perception of manufacturing among parents, students, and education providers. Many believe manufacturing is dirty, low- skill work that holds little opportunity as jobs move overseas where labor is cheap. While a significant number of low-skilled manual jobs have moved overseas and will likely never return, advanced manufacturing is growing and is especially strong in the Golden Corridor. The existing conditions report on manufacturing in the Golden Corridor examines employment data by manufacturing industry and identified several strengths and where need for workers is the highest. These jobs require specialized skills and offer opportunities to advance to high wages. This information can be used to help change the common misperception of manufacturing. Marketing and outreach efforts need to educate parents, students, and school staff on the reality, especially since many believe that in order to get a good job, it is necessary to go to a four-year-college immediately after high school. The CMAP report, Manufacturing in the Golden Corridor, also provides an overview of manufacturing related education and training programs. Additionally, the report describes various marketing and outreach efforts led by employers, industry associations, schools, training providers, and others.

  • Preliminary Report on the Canadian Use and Value of Non-Restricted
PRELIMINARY REPORT Canadian use and value of non-restricted firearms prohibited under SOR/2020-96 Submitted Photo Produced by the OFAH July 2020 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY he Preliminary Report on the Canadian use and value of non-restricted firearms prohibited under SOR/2020-96 is intended to better inform the general public, political, and legal discussions that are happening right now about the amended regulations (SOR/2020-96) Tintroduced on May 1, 2020 that prohibited a large number of firearms in Canada. To our understanding, this is the only comprehensive and cohesive examination of the uses and estimated financial values of previously non-re- stricted firearms prohibited under SOR/2020-96, including any available government impact analyses and rationalization for the prohibitions. The results of this preliminary report are intended to provide a qualitative list of previously non-restricted firearms to show the categorial uses by Canadians, but is not able to quantify how many people own or use these firearms, the frequency of uses, or the collective financial value of the firearms being prohibited. The preliminary report identifies the specific hunting and sporting uses as identified through a survey for 64 previously non-restricted firearms that are listed in the RCMP’s Firearms Reference Table (FRT) as prohibited by SOR/2020-96. There are many other newly prohibited firearms were not reported by survey respondents, as well as many identified firearms that meet the new prohibition thresholds for bore diameter and muzzle energy that are not yet listed in the FRT. The number of non-restricted firearms prohibited under the amended regulations is much higher than 64, but the report is limited to those firearms where specific ‘use’ information was provided through the survey.
