Q: Can you tell us a little bit about Shattuck St. Mary’s School and its world- renowned hockey program?

A: The environment here at Shattuck-St. Mary’s is unique. We are a boarding school with accelerated athletic programs, where the kids can get the best academic and athletic experiences. The hockey program here is intense, with skating every day, and a playing schedule of 50-60 games per season against the best competition in North America and the world. We have excellent coaching and facilities to help the kids develop every area of their game.

Q: How will a program like Shattuck St. Mary’s challenge the developing Swedish hockey player?

A: The Swedish player will be introduced to the North American style of play. On a daily basis, they will be educated in play with and without the puck, team form, and individual skills. They will also be held to the high standard of leadership and team play that is the trademark of Shattuck-St. Mary’s hockey players.

Q: Where do your players come from?

A: We attract players from all over the world to our school and hockey program, families and kids that are looking for a place that can help prepare them for college and professional hockey.

Q: At Shattuck St. Mary's you have coached numerous players that have moved on to the professional ranks, players like , Zach Parise, , Jonathan Toews, Jack Johnson, and even Sweden’s own Alexander Fallstrom just to name a few. Can you elaborate on the environment created at SSM ?

A: We have been very lucky to have had and have players in our program who will move on after they graduate from our school to do some wonderful things in the game of hockey, win National Championships and Stanley Cups and Gold medals in the Olympics and World Championships. Our school is not the right place for everyone, you need to be interested in getting a good education and be willing to put in the work to reach their potential as an athlete. Shattuck-St. Mary’s is a unique place for unique people. Our uniqueness makes it a great place.
