Inline Tube - at the Chicago - Muscle Car & Corvette Nationals 210
Inline Tube - At the Chicago - Muscle Car & Corvette Nationals 210 For years we have been saying if someone created a show for all national winning muscle cars it would be off the hook. It has now happened. In 2008 Bob Ashton has took over and reorganized the Chicago Chevy Vette Show to include all muscle cars and re-named the show "Muscle Car & Corvette Nationals". The show is now open to all makes and models of muscle cars. What makes this show truly unique is that it is an autorama style show that is all indoor and under one roof. The cars are displayed with information telling about the particular cars and the hoods, trunks and doors are open and many with the wheels off to show every detail of the restoration. This is a application entry show so you must send in photos of your car for consideration to be accepted into the show field. This year there were over 500 cars on the show floor and the competition was stiff. This show will certainly turn into one of the premier events for muscle car showings in the country. Inline tube was proud to display our 1972 442 W-30 with the many customer cars on the show floor. Inline tube is a company that manufactures high quality concourse level restoration parts for classic cars and trucks. We attend events to show car guys that; with some hard work and the right parts your project could turn out like ours. At this event there was no shortage of high end cars displaying Inline Tube products. -
11 Historic Philippine Presidential Cars We Love
11 Historic Philippine Presidential Cars We Love Ref.: http://www.wheninmanila.com/11-historic-philippine-presidential-cars/ June 12, 2015 Article By: Adrian John Ladaga. Today is the 117th Independence Day of the Philippines, and in more than a century of being a free nation, we dig up some of the most important pieces of history. We focused our research on the cars that were used by current and previous presidents as they offer a gateway to the lives and duties of the busy and well-travelled heads of our state. These presidential cars have served as official carriers of the nation’s top leaders, and have witnessed some of the most critical events in the country’s history. The president’s car must not only keep its VIP passenger safe, but also exude grandeur and authority. After all, it works as an extension of the powers and responsibility of the person inside. 11 Historic Philippine Presidential Cars We Love 11. Emilio Aguinaldo – 1924 Single Six Packard Model 226 After more than 300 years of being under the control of Spain, Emilio Aguinaldo was officially recognized as the president of the first republic. He had a short term from 1899 to 1901 during which he did not have an official presidential car. Aguinaldo, however, owned a 1924 Single Six Packard Model 226, a seven-seater limousine. It runs on a 4.3-Liter engine that provides 55 horsepower and was restored by the Vintage Car Club of the Philippines and the Philippine Motor Association. The car is on display at Aguinaldo’s mansion in Kawit, Cavite. -

Jack & Lynne Heacock's 1957 Oldsmobile
www.sandiegoregion.aaca.com Jack & Lynne Heacock’s 1957 Oldsmobile ‘98 Holiday Coupe March, 2021 Volume 59 Issue 3 Tale of an Oldsmobile by Jack Heacock Jack presented more of this story and more photos on our February Zoom Meeting. In order for the rest of the region to hear this “tale” this version is presented here. While perusing Craigs List early last year (2020), I came across a listing of an original unrestored 1957 Oldsmobile in a 47-year hibernation in the family’s garage in Billings, Montana. To say the least, I was intrigued. I found the owner (living locally in Escondido, CA) to be very pleasant and straightforward in his description. The car had been purchased by his late father as a 1-year-old car that had been traded in by one of the dealership’s salesman. Interestingly, the new owner had traded in his 1953 DeSoto for $695. This owner (whose family I purchased the car from) had maintained excellent records of everything ever done on the car including the original dealer purchase agreement (just under $3,000). In 1973 the car had an engine failure and was parked in the family garage with 66,229 original miles showing (mileage confirmed by aforementioned receipts). The owner is the executor of his parent’s estate and we came to an agreed price and I attempted to secure a transport for delivery of the car from Montana. My attempts were unsuccessful and because there was a short window to get the car from storage, I transported the car myself with help The owner and his son who I from my son in law and grandson. -
