It departs from Walter Benjamin’s widely known critique of aura, the thesis of which is that aura as ‘uniqueness’ of an artwork decays with the rise of technological reproducibility.

The Michelstaedter Enigma Thomas Harrison If ever there was one who, in Nietzsche's words, was born posthumously it was Carlo Michelstaedter. And doubly so: The first birth was a natural one, which for a variety of reasons he experienced as death. The second was the result of critical "exhumations," repeated discoveries of his work in the decades that have ensued since his sui cide in 1910. The most recent phase of this second coming begins when his sister Paula dies in 1972 and bequeaths Michelstaedter's manuscripts and paintings to her son Carlo Winteler. He, in turn, donates them to the Biblioteca Civica di Gorizia, where an archive is promptly established as the Fondo Michelstaedter. Two years later Professor Sergio Campailla takes over the task of putting order into the works, and the complete writings of Michelstaedter begin to be published by Adelphi Edizioni in Milan. His drawings, paintings, and biography also come to light.

ISBN 978-987-749-227-9.

ISBN 978-3-030- 52570-5 (Hardcover) / IBSN 978-3-030-52571-2 (eBook). This book brings together a group of leading and emerging scholars on the history of cultural and literary interactions between Asia and Latin America. Through a number of interlinked case studies, contributors examine how different forms of Asia-Latin America dialogues are embedded in various national and local contexts. The volume is divided in four parts: 1) Asian hybrid identities and Latin American transnational narratives; 2) translations and reception of Latin American narratives in Asia; 3) diffracted worlds of Nikkei identities; and 4) interweaving of Asian and Latin American narratives and travel chronicles. Through the lens of modern globality and Transpacific Studies, the contributions inaugurate a perspective that has, until recently, been neglected by Asian and Latin American cultural studies, while offering an incisive theoretical discussion and detailed textual analysis. https://www.palgrave.com/gp/book/9783030525705 • Axel Gasquet, Argentinean Literary Orientalism, from Esteban Echeverría to Roberto Arlt, Cham : Palgrave Macmillan, 2020, 304 p.
