Pursuant to Sections 31 and 813 of the City Charter, I am pleased to present the name of Matthew W. Daus to the City Council for advice and consent prior to his appointment to the New York City Civil Service Commission. There were 46 Council Members present at this Stated Meeting. Commissioner Daus was appointed Chair of the Taxi and Limousine Commission in 2001. He earned a BA. in Political Science, Magna Cum Laude, INVOCATION from Brooklyn College, a J.D. from the Touro College Law Center, and a Master of Laws degree from the New York University School of Law. When appointed to the Commission, he will fill a vacancy and serve for the remainder of a six-year term expiring on March 21, 2013.
