The Sonoma Music Festival was born from the desire of BRCCE to change up its annual fall event formerly at B.R. Cohn Winery and move it closer to town for a more community event. The new Field of Dreams location not only puts the concert goer two blocks from Sonoma’s Plaza, it allows the festival the opportunity to grow and generate more proceeds for charity. This year’s beneficiaries include national and local veterans organizations including Fisher House and American Legion Post 489, the Redwood Food Bank, Bread and Roses and others to be announced. Over its 28-year history BRCCE has raised over 6.5 million dollars for charity. “This is a very impressive 3-day line-up” exclaimed Bruce Cohn. “Not only do we get to finally present a Beatle, but all of these great acts are a perfect fit for Sonoma and wine country. Come up to stay, shop and enjoy this great music filled fundraising weekend.” Hailed as one of the "most important bands in music since the dawn of the rock and roll era" by former President Bill Clinton, the legendary rock and roll band with horns, Chicago, came in at #13, the highest charting American band in Billboard Magazine's list of Top 100 artists of all time. And Chicago is the first American rock band to chart Top 40 albums in six decades. Lifetime achievements include a Grammy Award, multiple American Music Awards, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a Chicago street dedicated in their honor, and keys to and proclamations from an impressive list of US cities. Record sales top the 100,000,000 mark, and include 21 Top 10 singles, 5 consecutive Number One albums, 11 Number One singles and 5 Gold singles. An incredible 25 of their 36 albums have been certified platinum, and the band has a total of 47 gold and platinum awards. As one of the two surviving Beatles, arguably rocks most popular bands ever, Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band brings a hit filled show to Sonoma. Not only does he cover popular Ringo Beatle numbers, but songs from his illustrious solo career as well. And if that’s not enough his All-Starr band includes Todd Rundgren, Steve from Toto, formerly lead singer of Santana, , and . This is one hit filled show. Formed in 1969 by Simmons, Johnston, founding drummer , and bassist Dave Shogren, The Doobie Brothers made their mark with a run of punchy, melodic hits on Warner Bros. Records. They attained radio ubiquity in the late ‘70s, when the group’s expanded lineup was augmented by Michael McDonald, whose soaring lead vocals pushed the band to new commercial and critical heights. The band took a five year respite before regrouping in 1987 for a series of gigs benefiting veterans’ groups and children’s charities (ultimately raising over $3 million). Inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2004, The Doobie Brothers have won four GRAMMY® Awards and sold more than 45 million records worldwide (including three multi-platinum, seven platinum, and 14 gold albums). Gregg Allman is one of rock's most acclaimed and beloved stars, possessing a distinctively soulful voice and singular songwriting ability that resonates through a musical career that spans nearly half a century. Gregg, along with the Allman Brothers Band, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame in 1995. At the 54th Annual Grammy Awards in 2012, the group was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award. That same year, Allman's critically acclaimed tell-all memoir, My Cross to Bear, spent several weeks as a New York Times Bestseller. The Field of Dreams set-up, while different than the winery set-up, still allows in the BRCCE tradition, great sight lines and access no more than 150 feet from the stage. With the newly added night time headliners, video and projection screens will make sure you don’t miss a thing happening on stage. These are rain or shine shows. Plans call for the best music, food and wine Sonoma has to offer. Many of the regions finest purveyors are joining in, including Laugunitas Brewing, a pop-up HopMonk beer garden, high-end and popular restaurants and of course some of the best wine in California including B.R. Cohn and many others. There will be no in and out privileges. Because of the new location, visitors are only 45 minutes from San Francisco, and one hour from Sacramento. Locals are encouraged to walk, ride a bike or car-pool. VIP, motorcycle and bicycle parking near the venue will be available and there is plenty of parking surrounding the venue in Sonoma.
