JOINT INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE SEMCCO & FANCCO Chief Patron A joint International conference on Swarm, Evolutionary Mr. V. Thapovardhan and Memetic Computing (SEMCCO) and Fuzzy and Neural Secretary & Correspondent Computing Conference (FANCCO) was jointly organized by the departments of CSE , IT and MCA , ANITS from 19th – 21st De- Patron cember 2011 which was the first International Conference in Andhra Pradesh. The organizing secretaries of the conference were Dr. S.C. Prof. V.S.R.K. Prasad Satapathy, HOD, Dept. of CSE, Prof. Ch. Suresh, HOD, Dept. of Principal IT & MCA and Mrs. Ch. Sita Kameswari , Assoc. Professor , Dept. of IT & MCA. The President for the inaugural function of the conference held on 19th December, 2011 was Editorial Board Sri. V. Thapovardhan, Secretary& Correspondent, ANITS. Dr. K. Kesavasamy, Global Head– Editor-in-Chief Academic Interface Programme, TCS was the Chief Guest and Dr. P.N. Suganthan, NTU, Singapore and Dr. B.K. Panigrahi , IIT Delhi were the Guests of Honor for the inaugural function. Eighteen Ms. Paromita Mukherjee Ojha technical sessions were conducted and 150 papers were presented in the conference. The selected Asst. Professor, English papers were published in Springer – Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2011, LNCS 7076, and LNCS 7077. Members : Keynote lectures were given by Prof. A. Carlos Coello, Chair, Computer Science Dept. at CINVESTAV – IPN MEXICO and Prof. Dipankar Das Gupta, Computer Science Dept, University of Ms. M. Nirmala Memphis, on 19th December, 2011. Prof. Jacek M. Zurada, distinguished University scholar, Asst. Professor, ECE University of Louisville, USA and Prof. N.R. Pal, ECS Unit ISI, Kolkata on 20th December, 2011. A tutorial was conducted on “Swarm Intelligence: An Optimization tool for various Engineering Ms. K.V.R. Swathi Applications” by Dr. S.K. Udgata, University of Hyderabad on 20th December 2011. Invited talks Asst. Professor, EEE were given by Dr. Sumant Yenduri, Assoc. Professor, University of Southern Mississippi and Ms. M. Kranthi Kiran Dr. Amit Kumar, Co & Chief Scientific Officer , Bio – Axis DNA Research Centre, Hyderabad on 21st Asst. Professor, CSE December, 2011 . The Valedictory function for the Conference was held on 21st December, 2011 presided by Prof. R. Govardhana Rao, Director (Admin), ANITS. Prof. A. Carlos Coello was the Ms. K. Neelima Santoshi Chief guest, Dr. Louise Perkins, University of Southern Mississippi and Swagatham Das, Jadavpur Sr. Asst. Professor, IT University were the Guests of Honor. Ms. P. Lavanya Kumari The College reopened on 18th January 2012, Asst. Professor, MCA after the Pongal vacation declared from 1st to 17th January 2012. Mr. V. Krishna REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATED IN ANITS Asst. Professor, Mech. The Republic Day was celebrated in all its gaiety in ANITS. Mr. Ch. Kanaka Raju Prof. G. Hanumantha Rao, Bio-tech of the college unfurled the Asst. Professor, B.T. National Flag and delivered his message. He advised ANITIANS to live up to the expectations and be a part in fulfillment of the Ms. Beena Punjabi objectives and tasks undertaken by free India. He added that the Asst. Professor, English Technocrats have a vital role to play in building up the Nation and greater responsibilities lie with the technological institutions in Mr. R. Soma Sekhar preparing the skilled technocrats to undertake the onerous Asst. Professor, Chemistry responsibilities. He gave away the prizes to the winners of events Ms. K.V. STUDENT SYMPOSIUM INTERACT 2K12-ACES Electronics & Communications Department and ANITS Communication Engineers Society (ACES)conducted a National Level Student Technical Symposium (INTERACT-2K12)on 24th and 25th February, 2012.The event was inaugurated by the Chief guest Prof.G.S.N.Raju, Principal, Andhra University College of Engineering (A), Visakhapatnam in the auditorium of ANITS. Dr.Ramesh Challagundla, Convener of INTERACT-2K12 informed that 270 papers were received out of which 80 papers were selected. The student from more than 50 colleges participated. Hardware Project Exhibition was also conducted. 08 Projects were exhibited covering areas of neural networks, embedded systems, Communications & EMI/EMC, Speech & Image processing and other areas, like Bio metrics and pattern recognition, Nano technology, Robotics, VLSI design and Network security. The valedictory function was held on 25th February, 2011 at 4:30PM in the auditorium, ANITS. The Chief guest Shri.O.Naresh Kumar, CEO, Symbiosis Technologies, Visakhapatnam addressed the gathering.

BIOFLARE - 2012 IGNITION - XII A two day National Level Technical Symposium (Bioflare’12) was organized on 17th February & 18th February, 2012 by Bio-technology Department at ANITS. The Chief Guests were Dr. Abhay Gaitonde, VP-Manufacturing services of Mylan Laboratories, Visakhapatnam. Prof T.Vithal Reddy, Scientist of Agric Biotech Foundation, Hyderabad and Dr. V.V.Ramachandra Rao, CEO of Biognosys technologies (INDIA) Pvt Ltd, Hyderabad were guests of honor. The Symposium consisted of 6 sessions and more than 50 papers were presented.
