Weekly Zoroastrian Scripture Extract # 102 – Pak Iranshah Atash Behram Padshah Salgreh - Adar Mahino and Adar Roj Parab - We approach Thee Ahura Mazda through Thy Holy Fire - Yasna Haptanghaaiti - Moti Haptan Yasht - Yasna 36 Verses 1 - 3 Hello all Tele Class friends: What an auspicious day today is! It is Pak Iranshah Atash Behram Padshah Saheb’s Salgreh – Adar Mahino and Adar Roj! Adar Mahina nu Parab! Today in our Udvada Gaam, hundreds of Humdins from all over India will congregate to pay their homage to Padshah Saheb and then all of them will be treated by a sumptuous Gahambar Lunch thanks to the Petit Family, an annual event! Over 1500 Humdins will partake this Gahambar lunch! I have attached 3 photos of the Salgreh in 2004 showing the long queue, Gahambar lunch Pangat and the Master Chefs! In our religion, Fire is regarded as one of the most amazing creations of Dadar Ahura Mazda! In fact, in Atash Nyayesh, Fire is referred to as the Son of Ahura Mazda! In our Agiyaris, Adarans and Atash Behrams, the focal point of our worship is the consecrated Fire and hence many people call us Fire Worshippers in their ignorance. That brings to mind the famous quote of the great Persian poet, Ferdowsi, the Shahnameh Author: “Ma gui keh Atash parastand budan, Parastandeh Pak Yazdaan budan!” “Do not say that they are Fire Worshippers! They are worshippers of Pak Yazdaan (Dadar Ahura Mazda) (through Holy Fire!)” In our previous weeklies, we have presented verses from Atash Nyayesh in praise of our consecrated Fires! The above point by Ferdowsi is well supported by the second Karda (chapter) of Yasna Haptanghaaiti, Yasna 36, the seven Has (chapters) attributed by some to Zarathushtra himself after his Gathas and many attribute them to the immediate disciples of Zarathushtra.

    > Title: Need to impress upon the Government of Pakistan to restore the Hindu Temple demolished in Karachi and provide adequate security to the minority Hindu community. SHRI BHARTRUHARI MAHTAB (CUTTACK): Chairman, Sir, before I express the issue which I had given, I would like to draw your attention that during Matters of Urgent Importance, notices are considered which are international in nature, national importance, then of State interest, and then of constituency interest. But I am sorry to mention here, I want to be on record, I think, the hon. Speaker, will go through this issue and hon. Parliamentary Affairs Minister also will look into this issue that today, a number of constituency issues were taken up. MR. CHAIRMAN : You just raise your matter. I will look into it. Whatever you want, you tell, it is left to the Chair to decide whether to allow or not. SHRI BHARTRUHARI MAHTAB : This is of national importance and this is of international repercussion. I wanted the House to respond to this. A century old Hindu temple in Karachi was hurriedly demolished by a builder despite a Pakistani Court hearing a petition seeking a stay on such a move. Besides raising the pre-partition Shri Rama Pir Mandir in Karachi's Soldier Bazaar, the builder has also demolished several houses near it last Saturday. Nearly 40 persons, a majority of them Hindus, have become homeless. This has been widely reported in Pakistani media, yet there is no action on behalf of the authorities. The affected families have stated that during demolition the area was cordoned off by the police and paramilitary forces called Pakistani Rangers.

Two eras covered are here in two parts; the Achaemenid and Sassanian Empires, the first and last of the Pre-Islamic Persian dynasties. This ancestry begins with a connection of the Persian kings to the Greek mythology according to Plato. I have included these kind of connections between myth and history, the reader may decide if and where such a connection really takes place. Plato 428/427 BC – 348/347 BC), was a Classical Greek philosopher, mathematician, student of Socrates, writer of philosophical dialogues, and founder of the Academy in Athens, the first institution of higher learning in the Western world. King or Shah Cyrus the Great established the first dynasty of Persia about 550 BC. A special list, “Byzantine Emperors” is inserted (at page 27) after the first part showing the lineage from early Egyptian rulers to Cyrus the Great and to the last king of that dynasty, Artaxerxes II, whose daughter Rodogune became a Queen of Armenia. Their descendants tie into our lineage listed in my books about our lineage from our Byzantine, Russia and Poland. The second begins with King Ardashir I, the 59th great grandfather, reigned during 226-241 and ens with the last one, King Yazdagird III, the 43rd great grandfather, reigned during 632 – 651. He married Maria, a Byzantine Princess, which ties into our Byzantine Ancestry.
