It’s Showtime – Walsh Bay Kitchen Opens its Doors to the Arts District Walsh Bay Kitchen has opened its doors to the heart of Sydney’s vibrant Arts District, with a sleek new fit out paying homage to its theatrical setting. The new dining venue is located on the site of the former Hickson Road Bistro at Roslyn Packer Theatre Walsh Bay. Locals, visitors and theatre goers alike will converge to sample delicious and innovative new Australian fare, with an Asian twist created by Head Chef, Kay Hwang. Chef Kay works closely with Sydney’s finest providores to feature the freshest and most interesting seasonal offerings presented with true culinary flair. The varied and innovative menu is sure to impress, whilst paying homage to perennial favourites. When working their way through the menu, guests can indulge in seared scallops, almond butter, squid ink, finger lime or wagyu flat iron, salsa verde and creamy potato or Jasmine tea smoked duck breast, parsnip, Korean BBQ sauce which is the house specialty. A new bar has also launched as part of the new dining venue, furnished with select cosy lounge chairs, complete with an impressive wine list, creative house cocktails and a signature sherry/digestives list. Through this, Walsh Bay Kitchen aim to create a unique space where people can meet and enjoy culinary delights, anticipating or reflecting upon the shows of the Roslyn Packer Theatre, Sydney Theatre Company’s (STC’s) Wharf Theatres or simply sharing the eclectic sights and sounds of Walsh Bay and the Sydney’s Arts Precinct.
