Whether you choose to stay in Birmingham when you graduate or move to the other side of the world, you will be ready to operate in a global environment.

My favourite thing about my experience was the freedom – as an exchange student, I could study the courses I wanted to and at German universities, some students can build their own timetable. So not only was I studying lots of interesting things I wouldn’t normally be able to, like Philosophy and History, but I also managed to engineer myself a four-day weekend so I could travel easily and explore more! I visited German cities like Stuttgart and Munich and also crossed over to Switzerland to visit Zurich.

I’d urge every student to consider studying abroad, it’s an invaluable experience as you get to know an entirely different culture and country within a supportive network of the university. I loved my time studying abroad; it allowed me to make great friends from across the world and studying in another country was a really interesting experience.
