E Banc Trade Sydney has recently broken the petrol drought for members, following a push to acquire petrol on Trade for the members’ weekly motorcar running costs! (Most service station proprietors are very reluctant to offer any discount on fuel at all.) Following a recent visit to Sydney and advice from Scott Kirby of E Banc Melbourne, the Sydney team have now acquired their first Service Station on ten percent trade for all members who elect to take advantage of this offer. Membership Coordinator Graham Valentine who negotiated this deal said, “While ten percent may not appear to be a good discount, it has to be realised that petrol has little margin and is frequently changing price. Through adopting this unique method of purchasing and recording each member’s purchase on pre-printed cards, the system implemented allows the Service Station proprietor to increase his turnover, receiving the cash first, then, after averaging out the first nine purchases, the member knows what their tenth purchase will be. The tenth purchase is on full trade. No cash!” For example: • Nine petrol purchases over any time period that might add up to say $360.00 = average $40.00 per fill up. • Total income to the service station proprietor so far is $360.00. • Member’s next purchase, their tenth at this petrol station, will be for $40.00 of petrol on FULL TRADE! Then the count starts all over again, benefiting both purchaser and vendor. Purchases are registered on the new My E Plus Card. Contact Graham on 02 9831 7363 for details on My E Plus. • Cricket Memorabilia Society Postal Auction Closing at Noon 10
CRICKET MEMORABILIA SOCIETY POSTAL AUCTION CLOSING AT NOON 10th JULY 2020 Conditions of Postal Sale The CMS reserves the right to refuse items which are damaged or unsuitable, or we have doubts about authenticity. Reserves can be placed on lots but must be agreed with the CMS. They should reflect realistic values/expectations and not be the “highest price” expected. The CMS will take 7% of the price realised, the vendor 93% which will normally be paid no later than 6 weeks after the auction. The CMS will undertake to advertise the memorabilia for auction on its website no later than 3 weeks prior to the closing date of the auction. Bids will only be accepted from CMS members. Postal bids must be in writing or e-mail by the closing date and time shown above. Generally, no item will be sold below 10% of the lower estimate without reference to the vendor.. Thus, an item with a £10-15 estimate can be sold for £9, but not £8, without approval. The incremental scale for the acceptance of bids is as follows: £2 increments up to £20, then £20/22/25/28/30 up to £50, then £5 increments to £100 and £10 increments above that. So, if there are two postal bids at £25 and £30, the item will go to the higher bidder at £28. Should there be two identical bids, the first received will win. Bids submitted between increments will be accepted, thus a £52 bid will not be rounded either up or down. Items will be sent to successful postal bidders the week after the auction and will be sent by the cheapest rate commensurate with the value and size of the item.

  • 2012 a Record to Commemorate the Seventy–Fifth Anniversary of the Club
WOODVILLE DISTRICT CRICKET CLUB 1937 – 2012 A RECORD TO COMMEMORATE THE SEVENTY–FIFTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CLUB INTRODUCTION In September, 2012 the Woodville District Cricket Club celebrated its seventy-fifth anniversary. This publication includes references to the early Woodville Cricket Club first formed in 1874, and a history relating to the establishment of the Club in 1937 and its progress to admission to the South Australian Cricket Association District Cricket Competition. I have drawn on two publications that I have previously produced: - June, 1976 titled “ History of the Woodville District Cricket Club Inc. 1937-1976 “ prepared in conjunction with the centenary celebrations of the City of Woodville (1), and - September, 2009 - “Woodville District Cricket Club- Performances, Statistics and Other Club Records: 1937/1938 - 2008/2009” (2). The 75th anniversary has provided the opportunity to consolidate Club records. As a consequence this publication includes a comprehensive record of office holders, the significant achievements and performances of players along with other statistical details of Club performances. Parts II-VI includes these records and represents a collection established, added to, and maintained since 1973. The records and statistics do track the path of history. In some instances the date of creating the particular record is shown. What is produced in relation to player performances and State representation do not include the separate State and A Grade One Day and Twenty20 competitions. The contribution that many individuals have made to the establishment and performance of the Club, and its enduring existence over its 75 year history can, to some extent, be measured by what is recorded in the various parts of this publication.

  • It's 40 Years Since World Series Cricket Changed Everything, From
The towering figure of Tony Greig. It’s 40 years since World Series Cricket changed everything, from the way the game was played to the way it was televised – the way, in fact, sport was televised. It introduced coloured apparel, lights, day-night Tests and one-dayers – the list is endless. People look back now with fondness at the WSC revolt, suggested at first by Dennis Lillee, instigated by some of the world’s best players, funded by Kerry Packer. Two of our interviewees, Clive Rice and Tony Greig, are now sadly departed, but our intrepid correspondent, CRISPIN ANDREWS, had long-ago managed to get their thoughts on the Packer revolution. He managed to track down many of the other protagonists recently. Here are their memories of one of the biggest upheavals ever witnessed in world sport. CRICKET MEMORABILIA SOCIETY AUCTION SATURDAY 20th OCTOBER 2018 LANCASHIRE COUNTY CRICKET GROUND VIEWING from 10am AUCTION 1.30pm Auctioneer: Tim Davidson 1 Conditions of Sale The CMS welcomes items of cricket memorabilia for its auctions. There will normally be just two auctions in the year - March and October. The CMS reserves the right to refuse items which are damaged etc., or we have doubts about authenticity. Reserves can be placed on lots but must be agreed with the CMS. They should reflect realistic values/expectations and not be the “highest price” expected. The CMS will take 7% of the price realised, the vendor 93% which will normally be paid 6 weeks after the auction. The CMS will undertake to advertise the memorabilia to all its members (including overseas) and only CMS members are eligible to bid for items. Members are welcome to send postal bids which should be in writing/e-mail before the auction. Bids will normally start at 60% of the bid unless there is a higher reserve price or other postal bids. Items will be sent to successful postal bidders the week after the auction and will usually be sent by recorded delivery. Postage will be paid by the successful postal bidder. The CMS will be responsible for the items sent for auction while they are in the possession of the CMS. The CMS welcomes items of particular and unusual interest for the auctions. Non-members can send items for auction but we would discourage large quantities of books, magazines etc. A list of prices realised at an auction will be included with the next magazine due for publication after the auction.
