Découverte de deux espèces nouvelles pour la faune du Maroc : Synclisis baetica (Rambur, 1842) et Creoleon surcoufi (Navás, 1912) Michel J. FAUCHEUX 1, Matthieu GIACOMINO 2 et M’Barek AGNAS 3 RÉSUMÉ : 8 espèces de Myrmeleontinae et 1 espèce d’Ascalaphinae ont été observées dans les régions d’Essaouira et de Oualidia, au Maroc atlantique. Deux espèces sont nouvelles pour le Maroc : Synclisis baetica (Rambur, 1842) qui était jusqu’ici connue pour l’Afrique du nord, d’Algérie, de Tunisie et d’Egypte et Creoleon surcoufi (Navás, 1912), espèce érémiale. Une nouvelle station de Deleproctophylla gelini Navás, 1919 est mentionnée en dehors des deux précédemment connues. Deux espèces additionnelles ne peuvent pas être déterminées actuellement. ABSTRACT : Antlions and Owlflies (Neuroptera, Myrmeleontidae - Ascalaphidae) from Essaouira and Oualidia (Atlantic coast of Morocco) - Prospections 1999-2012. Two new species for the fauna of Morocco : Synclisis baetica (Rambur, 1842) and Creoleon surcoufi (Navás, 1912). 8 species of Myrmeleontinae and 1 specie of Ascalaphinae have been observed in the areas of Essaouira and Oualidia on the Atlantic coast of Morocco. Two of these species are new for Morocco : Synclisis baetica (Rambur, 1842); until now it has been thought to be limited for North Africa, to Algeria, Tunisia and Egypt and Creoleon surcoufi, eremial specie. A new station for Deleproctophylla gelini Navás, 1919 is mentioned besides the two previously known. Two additional species cannot be determined at the moment. INTRODUCTION Les Myrmeleontidae et Ascalaphidae sont connus des entomologistes pour leur aspect majestueux (leur silhouette rappelant celle des odonates) et pour leurs larves carnassières aux mandibules proéminentes. Certaines creusent des entonnoirs – pièges (genres Myrmecaelurus, Myrmeleon, Euroleon), les autres chassent leurs proies en se déplaçant. Cela dit, ils restent comme les autres Neuropterida (Névroptères sensu lato) assez mal connus. Morphologiquement, ces insectes sont caractérisés par leurs deux paires d’ailes sillonnées d’un réseau de nervures très dense (Fig.1), qui est la majeure partie du temps incontournable pour l’identification spécifique, et par leurs antennes claviformes. Ils présentent en général un phototropisme positif, ce qui fait le bonheur des amateurs de chasses nocturnes. La terminologie relative aux abréviations des nervures alaires est celle utilisée par Aspöck et al (1980). Les deux régions principales prospectées sont distantes de 190 Km. Oualidia est une ville située sur la côte atlantique nord entre El Jadida et Safi, à 160 Km au sud de Casablanca ; elle fait partie de la région de Doukkala-Abda. Essaouira est située sur la côte atlantique méridio- nale, à 350 Km au sud de Casablanca et à 170 Km au nord d’Agadir (Fig. 2) ; elle fait partie de la région de Marrakech-Tensift-El Haouz. Concernant Oualidia, les fourmilions ont été capturés sur les murs des maisons du village durant la journée ou attirés par les lumières, également dans le karst sur la route de Tnine Gharbia. Certains ont été observés au Cap Bedouzza (anciennement Cap Cantin) situé à 60 Km au nord de Oualidia. Concernant Essaouira et sa région (province d’Essaouira), les captures ont été réalisées dans plusieurs localités : Lazari est un lieu situé à l’entrée d’Essaouira quand on vient de la route d’Agadir, il se compose d’une tamariçaie-rétamaie située entre la route et les dunes avant l’oued Ksob. 1 MJF : Laboratoire d’Endocrinologie des Insectes Sociaux, Faculté des Sciences et des Techniques, 2 rue de la Houssinière, B.P. 92208, F-44322 NANTES Cedex 03, France. Le village de Diabat, situé aux abords de la même route à 5 km d’Essaouira, possède une plage et une euphorbiaie-mimosaie étendue. El Ghazoua (actuellement Essaouira-El Jadida) est situé dans les terres à 9 Km d’Essaouira sur la route d’Agadir ; les fourmilions ont été capturés dans la rétamaie près du village maintenant transformé en une ville nouvelle. Sidi Kaouki est situé sur la côte à 25 Km au sud d’Essaouira ; les fourmilions ont été récoltés en bordure de plage au niveau de la junipéraie. Talmest se trouve dans les terres à 60 Km au nord d’Essaouira ; la plupart des captures l’ont été au niveau du douar El Hacinate. MATÉRIEL ET MÉTHODES Les adultes que nous avons capturés l’ont été à l’aide d’un filet à papillons ou directement à la main lorsqu’ils étaient posés sur un mur ou un support quelconque. Certains ont été attirés par la lumière artificielle. Ils ont été récoltés par Michel J. Faucheux et M’Barek Agnas dans les régions de Essaouira, Talmest et Oualidia (Fig. 2). Les déterminations ont été effectuées par Matthieu Giacomino (MG), Bruno Michel (BM) et Roberto Pantaleoni (RP). 1 – Liste des Myrmeleontidae et des Ascalaphidae du Maroc, selon Aspöck & al. Elevations in Er Rif attain heights of about 2,400 m; 3. The Atlantic coastal plain along the Atlantic Ocean, framed in the arc formed by Er Rif and the Atlas Mountains; 4. Morocco has many rivers, which are used for irrigation and for generating electric power. Cette expansion est due à la présence de sables provenant de l’érosion de la côte adja- cente et des stocks sédimentaires de la plate forme continentale mobilisés grâce aux courants induits par la houle et les courants de marée qui sont les principaux courants intra-lagunaires. La lagune de Oualidia est une lagune à flux dominée par les courants de flot qui sont plus importants que ceux du flot.
