GORDON DRESSAGE GROUP OPEN WINTER DRESSAGE SERIES 2007/2008 Prizes and Rosettes st rd 1. Rosettes will be awarded for 1st to 6th in all classes with over 6 entries. 1 to 3 will be awarded for classes with less than 6 entries.

2. Training grants will be awarded to the two members that have gained the greatest number of points scored over the entire series at each level - provided there are more than 6 competitors with points at each level. Only 1 training grant to be awarded where less than 6 competitors. In order to be eligible for training grants, competitors must have competed in at least 3 competitions (weather permitting) –for this purpose, the members only competition in February will also count. Trophies will be awarded to all points winners at the AGM.

Points 1. Points will be awarded at all levels from Preliminary to Advanced Medium (in both classes) based on the percentage achieved as follows: 60.00 - 61.99% 1 point 62.00 - 62.99% 2 points 63.00 - 63.99% 3 points 64.00 - 64.99% 4 points 65.00 - 65.99% 5 points 66.00 - 66.99% 6 points 67% & over 7 points All horses achieving a score within the above range will be awarded points irrespective of their place in the class. If this standard is not achieved, then no points will be awarded. If, due to unforeseen circumstances, the competition runs on only one day of a weekend, no points will be awarded.

Only GDG members will be eligible to gain points.

Eligibility of Horses 1. Horses must compete at their recognised level and the organisers reserve the right to return entries made in inappropriate classes after discussion with the entrant.

2. The top 6 points winners in Preliminary and the top 3 in Novice will be asked to move up to the next level, provided that their percentages indicate that they are ready. The organisers reserve the right to ask other competitors to move up a level if their scores indicate that they are ready.

3. Novice horses must have less than 75 BD dressage points, elementary horses less than 150 points, medium horses less than 250 points, and advanced medium horses less than 325 points.

4. If you change the rider during the series, the horse must continue at the same level. In all cases it is the standard of the horse that counts, not the rider.

5. The organiser reserves the right to refuse or amend the level at which the horse is entered.

Entries 1. Hors concurs entries will only be accepted if time permits.

2. All competitors are expected to be familiar with and comply with BHS riding club competition rules.

3. Entry forms arriving after the closing date will only be accepted if spaces become available and will be subject to a £2 per class surcharge. You will be told whether or not your entry has been accepted after the closing date and the amount of the surcharge when telephoning for your time. The surcharge must be paid before competing in any further events. We will not automatically return late entries by post or telephone you. It is up to the entrant to ensure that entry forms arrive on time.

4. No entry fees will be refunded after the close of entries.

5. Competitors entering classes on both days are requested to send separate cheques for each day.

6. Classes being oversubscribed will be restricted.

7. Entries will be balloted out as follows: a) Training classes b) late entries c) non-members d) HC entries e) members on a first-come-first-served basis by date entry received Those who are unfortunately balloted out will get priority entries for the next competition provided their entries are received before the closing date.

NO TELEPHONE ENTRIES

The organisers have the right to alter, amalgamate and / or cancel any class. The organisers’ decision will be final.

Telephoning for Times 1. Times will be available from the Competition Secretary only when stated on the entry form. We would appreciate it if you do not inconvenience the families of show organisers by telephoning outside these times. If you are unable to phone at the stated time, please include an SAE with your entry and times will be posted to you. Times are also available on the Internet at the following address - http:\\www.gordondressagegroup.org.uk 2. Please do not telephone Fountain Equestrian under any circumstances for your times.

Showground Rules 1. Riders are requested to pick up litter and droppings from the Lorry Park. 2. Smoking is not permitted in the school. 3. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times. 4. When the field is being used for parking or as a warm up area, please keep horses within the designated areas. Anyone seen “having a gallop” in the field will be eliminated from the competition and have any points which they have won cancelled. 5. No lunging or leading horses in the outdoor arena. 6. No persons are permitted in the outdoor arena while competitors are warming up.

Bad Weather/Cancellation 1. If the forecast is bad the entire competition will be cancelled on the Thursday prior to the competition. A message will be posted on the web page and competitors phoning for times will be informed then. If it should be necessary to cancel any competition after the Thursday prior, a message will be left on the Competition Secretary’s answerphone. Competitors are therefore asked to telephone the Competition Secretary should they be in any doubt as to whether a competition is going ahead. Should a message not be left, competitors must assume that the competition is still going ahead.

Training Classes 1. A training class/es will be run on Saturday if time permits. This class is run as per all other classes, but will have no points or rosettes awarded. If time is limited, this class will be the first to be cancelled.

Withdrawals on day of competition 1. Anyone unable to compete on the day of the competition please call the GDG mobile no and let us know that you are not coming. Tel No: 07711 273105
