City Branch Coffee Morning Programme 2017

CITY BRANCH – COFFEE MORNING PROGRAMME 2017 First Thursday in the month, 10 am – 12 noon at The Friends’ Meeting House, Priory Road, Chichester

MEET YOUR COUNCILLORS - members may meet their local councillors here monthly to discuss matters of concern, before & after the talk: 10.00 - 10.30 am, and 11.30 am - 12 pm.

Thu 2 February The Friends of Chartres – Chairman, Ray Brown, tells the story of the twinning.

Thu 2 March The Rotary Club of Chichester. President Dereck Double (and President-elect Vivienne McGavin) will talk about Presenting Rotary in Chichester - including the work of Rotary International.

Thu 6 April The Oxmarket Centre of Arts Chairman Cllr Martyn Bell, tells of its 40 years as an arts centre with a 40th Anniversary Exhibition last year.

Thu 4 May WSCC ELECTIONS. No meeting.

Thu 1 June Cllr Tony Dignum, Leader of Chichester District Council, relates the CDC’s Masterplan to regenerate Chichester’s Southern Gateway area, and reports progress to date.

Thu 6 July Chief Inspector Justin Burtenshaw, Chichester & Arun Districts. Our local Police Commander describes the new model of local policing in the District which he is responsible for introducing.

August No meeting.

Thu 7 September Cllr Anne Scicluna gives an illustrated talk entitled European Walled Towns.

Thu 5 October Discoveries & Surprises: Creating the Chichester Heritage Trails. Illustrated talk by Chris Hare, Project Manager.

Thu 2 November Professor Hugo Frey, Head of Dept./History & Politics, University of Chichester, will speak about Advancing Political Studies at the University of Chichester: What do students want? What do students need? Basically, he will outline their 2 degrees, and explore with us their vision and the basic premise of politics in the UK.

Thu 7 December Brenda Jackson, Manager of Chichester Careline, tells how they operate this important lifeline 24/7 to the local community. ______

COFFEE & BISCUITS – BRING & BUY STALL – RAFFLE

 10.00 am Coffee & biscuits, a chance to chat, browse at the Bring & Buy Stall, win a Raffle prize.  10.30 am The speaker will introduce a topic of interest to members and guests.  11.15 am An opportunity to ask questions, and have a 2nd cup of coffee.
