A RESOLUTION in Honor of the 2005 Career and Technical Education Week

A RESOLUTION in honor of the 2005 Career and Technical Education Week. WHEREAS, the Association for Career and Technical Education has established the theme "Career Tech: Training Tomorrow's Workforce" for Career and Technical Education Week, February 13-19, 2005; and WHEREAS, the Kentucky Association for Career and Technical Education commemorates Career and Technical Education Week with Student Organization Leadership Day on February 15, 2005; and WHEREAS, more than 800 representatives of Kentucky's Career and Technical Education Student Organizations and their advisers are participating in Student Organization Leadership Day, which consists of a formal citizenship educational program and the opportunity to tour the State Capitol and meet with Representatives and Senators; and WHEREAS, Career and Technical Education Student Organizations provide secondary and postsecondary students the opportunity to develop leadership skills and further explore possible career options, both of which enhance their ability to achieve success in life and become future leaders in the Commonwealth of Kentucky; and WHEREAS, Mary Alice Birdwhistell, President, Family, Community, and Career Leaders of America and a student from Anderson County High School, represents all Career and Technical Student Organization members before this body today;

NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: Section 1. In commemoration of the national Career and Technical Education Week, February 13-19, 2005, this honorable body expresses its sincere appreciation for the hard work and dedication of the career and technical education programs in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and throughout the country. Section 2. This honorable body recognizes and supports the vital role Kentucky's

Career and Technical Education Student Organizations and their advisers play in helping young adults develop the knowledge, skills, and character to lead fulfilling and prosperous lives. Section 3. The Clerk of the House shall send a copy of this Resolution to Mary Alice Birdwhistell, Anderson County High School, 1 Bearcat Dr., Lawrenceburg, KY 40342.
