COUNCIL MINUTES

The City Council of the City of Raleigh met in special session at 12 noon on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 in the City Council Chamber, Room 201 of the Raleigh Municipal Building, Avery C. Upchurch Government Complex, 222 W. Hargett Street, Raleigh, North Carolina, with the following present.

Mayor Nancy McFarlane, Presiding Mayor Pro Tem John Odom Councilor Mary-Ann Baldwin Councilor Kay C. Crowder Councilor Bonner Gaylord Councilor Wayne K. Maiorano Councilor Russ Stephenson Councilor Eugene Weeks

Mayor McFarlane called the meeting to order pursuant to special meeting notice delivered on March 30, 2015.

DIX PARK SITE – CLOSED SESSION – HELD

Mayor McFarlane stated a motion is in order to enter closed session pursuant to NCGS143- 318.11(a)(3) and (5) for the purpose of consulting with the City Attorney regarding legal issues involved in acquiring the future Dix Park site. On behalf of the Council, Mayor McFarlane moved approval of the motion as read. Her motion was seconded by Mr. Stephenson and a roll call vote resulted in all members voting in the affirmative. The Mayor ruled the motion adopted on an 8-0 vote. The Council went into closed session at 12:05 p.m.

The Council reconvened in open session at 1:40 p.m. Mayor McFarlane reported the Council had just returned from closed session at which they received an update from the Attorney regarding legal issues relative to the future Dix Park site.

Adjournment. There being no further business Mayor McFarlane announced the meeting adjourned at 1:41 p.m.
