Chocolate covered pretzels are on sale in room E106. They are delicious and nutritious! $.50 a bag. Enjoy! 3. SADD will be holding its annual "Hugs from Hunks and Honey's" contest during the lunch periods today in the cafeteria and commons. Please support SADD in making a donation to Blair Batson Children's Hospital by making a contribution to your favorite Hunk or Honey. Remember, it's for the children. 4. Model UN officers need to meet with Mr. Beasley today during the short homeroom period. Very Important! Room E111, Be There!Kate Nye, Brady Ruffin, Nia Sims, Khoula Salem, Javarcia Ivory, Anthony Scales Avneet Singh, Emma Jenkins, Allison Frock. Hotel Fees are past due, resolutions online are past due. Country presentation boards are due at the end of the nine weeks. The next training sessions are Thursday, February 20, Thursday, March 20, and Thursday, March 27. You must have attended four sessions in order to attend the conference. 5. Students planning to register for the 2015 Europe trip with Mr. Beasley and Mr. Osborn are reminded of the February 15 early bird discount deadline. Don't delay, Register today! See either of them if you have questions. 6. ANCHOR CLUB: Sign up for the sing-a-long on Thursday, Feb 20 at 6:00. You may also earn a service credit by donating $5 toward a fund to help fix the piano at the nursing home! 7. JCL will meet in the library on Tuesday, February 11 during homeroom. 8. CPE - Career Pathway Experience is coming back for the 2014-2015 school year. Upcoming Juniors and Seniors are eligible to enroll. CPE is a business based curriculum including topics such as human relations, communication, banking and finance, business etiquette, taxation, employability skills, college and career exploration. AND Students will work in an approved work site for 540 hours during the school year and will be paid! Must have your own transportation! Sign up if you are interested. 9. The Career Complex is excited to offer a new course next year - Engineering! Upcoming Juniors are eligible to enroll. The class will provide hands-on experiences related to the application of engineering concepts in the workplace. If you are considering a major and career in engineering, this class acquaint you with the engineering field and prepare you for your college classes in the engineering curriculum. 10. GIRLS VOLLEYBALL CAMP-The deadline is this Wednesday, February 12 at 3:00. After that time, they can only sign up through Coach Carter. Camp cost is 40$ which includes a T-shirt. Grades 4th through 11th are welcome to come. You do not have to have any previous skills to attend. Forms will be in the front office and in Coach Denson's room in E214. Turn forms into Coach Denson. 11. T-SHIRT DESIGN CONTEST: If you are interested in designing this year's shirt to be sold as a fundraiser for Batson Children's Hospital, see Mrs. Berry for more information. 12. NHS Current Students: Bring project posted in W207. If you have not completed both service credits come by to sign up. 13. NHS invitees: application is due to Mrs. Olinger in W207 or Mrs. Darnell in W208 by Friday, February 14 at 3:45!! If your name is on the list and you did not attend the meeting last Friday, come by Mrs. Olinger or Mrs. Darnell to pick up an application, 14. ANCHOR CLUB: If you are interested in buying an Anchor Club t-shirt, see Mrs. Berry or one of the Anchor officers. Shirts are $10, and you can choose from two designs thanks to Khoula Saleem and Carly Melton! 15. ANCHOR CLUB: There are several service projects posted outside Mrs. Berry's room. GUIDANCE OFFICE ANNOUNCEMENTS Central Mississippi Ole Miss Rebel Club is awarding $1,000.00 scholarships to deserving students. To be eligible for this scholarship you must be on track to graduate with a "B" average and must have scored between 21 and 28 on the ACT. Please pick up an application in the guidance department. Applications are due March 14, 2014.

Hinds Community College Raymond campus Art Department provides an opportunity for art students to receive financial assistance based primarily on artistic merit. They are offering a limited number of partial or full tuition scholarships to deserving students. If interested please pick up a packet int he guidance department. The deadline is Thursday, March 6, 2014, no later than 2:00 PM. All material must be delivered or mailed to the art department on the Raymond campus. The Community Foundation of Greater Jackson announces the 2014 Aura Neely-Gary Memorial Scholarship available to college students for the 2014-2015 school year. The fund awards one or more scholarships annually (depending upon the number of deserving applicants) in the amount of $2,000 based on merit and need to a male or female student planning to enter a college or university in Mississippi. Preference will be given to students who desire to resume their education following a period of personal difficulties. Special consideration will be given for young women who had previously dropped out of school and are now enrolled at a post-secondary institution. You may pick up an application in the guidance office or this application may be accessed at the website www.cfgj.org/scholarships. THE APPLICATION DEADLINE IS APRIL 15, 2014.
High school senior & juniors are invited to attend Rust College's annual Rust College 2014 Visitation Day activities to be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014, from 8:00 AM-12 Noon. All departments will have faculty members on hand to meet and discuss academic majors and requirements. Students will be able to apply for admission and discuss financial aid and scholarship availability while visiting campus. If interested please pick up a registration form from the guidance department or register online by visiting www.rustcollege.edu. The form is due February 21, 2014.
University of LA at Monroe is hosting an event. They would like to extend an invitation to students from Clinton High who are either seniors or juniors, and have an ACT composite score of 23 or higher. They want them to be able to speak with alumni from ULM, learn about all the opportunities offered there and just to meet and greet. The event will take place on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Biaggi's Restaurant in Ridgeland.
The Arts Council will be awarding one scholarship to a student displaying advanced artistic talent. The scholarship program is open to all artistic genres including, but not limited to: visual arts, dance, musical performance, literary, and dramatic performance. The scholarship will be awarded in the amount of $1,000. Applications are in the guidance office, the deadline for applications will be April 9, 2014.
Sigma Nu Fraternity here at Mississippi State University is are offering one $500 scholarship to one high school senior male attending Mississippi State in the fall of 2013. We look for the winner of our “Freshman Leadership Scholarship” to demonstrate a commitment to excellence in the classroom and show his involvement in his community through extracurricular activities and leadership positions. It should be noted that one does not need to be interested in fraternity to win this scholarship as membership is not required to win. The due date to mail in the application is April 11th, 2014. Application forms are in the guidance office.
We are having our “Be a Student For a Day” days coming up in January and February! It is a great way for high school seniors to find out what it is like to be a real Delta State student. Seniors will choose one of our student days, which are listed below, to visit Delta State for a fun-filled day with real-time class experience, Q&A sessions, a campus tour, a campus tour, lunch in the cafeteria and student panels. Plus, we’ll give them a Fear the Okra t-shirt! It is going to be a great time!
