VIDEOJET® STEPS UP TO THE MAILMARK®

Manufacturer among select number approved by Royal Mail for 2D barcodes

HUNTINGDON, UK – October 17th, 2014 – Videojet Technologies’ is delighted to announce it is one of only a few suppliers approved by the Royal Mail to print its MailMark® 2D barcode. “We are very pleased that our coding systems have been verified as suitable to print this new barcode,” explained Videojet’s Graphics Sales Manager, Jon Unwin.

He worked closely with Videojet software engineers and the Royal Mail to ensure the manufacturer’s solutions can print the MailMark 2D bar code to the required standard. Videojet then collaborated with a large mailings solutions provider to trial the new software on the Videojet BX6500/6600 Series Binary Array Ink Jet printers.

The printers offer exceptional throughput on even the most complex jobs, fast drying inks to print on a broad range of materials and print heads that are built to last. Their reliability and durability ensure high productivity print.

“We were determined to become one of only a handful of suppliers whose printing machines have been approved for producing collateral for high volume mailings. Now we can help any operation that produces mass mailings enjoy greater reportability and response transparency,” states Mr Unwin.

Royal Mail Mailmark® barcode technology offers users the ability to access web-based reporting from an online analytics dashboard. The batch level reporting details predicted delivery, volume and performance as well as item level error reporting creating a powerful analytical tool. Designed for high volume, high quality machine readable mail it is most suited to organisations, retail and wholesale, that produce millions of letters, or large letters, each year.

Companies using the 2D barcode on mailings through Royal Mail can also benefit from a discount in costs– another incentive to adopt the technology.

Continues Mr Unwin: “Videojet has developed a range of high quality solutions for customers in this market but we were keen for them to have peace of mind when it comes to using MailMark®. That is why the Royal Mail approval was so important for us.”
