1. Position Identification Title: Medical Assistant Job Location: Queen of Peace Center Cathedral Tower Reporting Relationship: Residential Manager Salary: Commensurate with Experience and Capabilities Employment Status: Full and Part-Time/PRN Non-Exempt

2. General Description: This position provides supervision and assistance to the residents, their children and outpatient clients in accordance with the criteria of the program’s goals. Work closely with the nurse and have knowledge of chemical dependency as a disease, including treatment and intervention methods. Monitors client behavior, conflict resolution, and hygiene, conduct group education, answer phone, and pass medication to agency clients. Implement rules and monitor cleanliness of the environment.

3. Responsibilities 3.1 Gather client information upon admission to the unit, including adult assessment of addiction and withdrawal 3.2 Continuously observe and document client behavior, mental status and activities 3.3 Record client information such as vital signs, weight and medication adherence 3.4 Provide support to the physician as needed 3.5 Follow all operating procedures of the treatment program 3.6 Thorough and accurate documentation 3.7 Provide conflict resolution as needed 3.8 Participate in all required meetings and trainings to increase knowledge of substance abuse 3.9 Effectively communicate with client and staff 3.10 Provide support to clinical staff 3.11 Assume any other responsibilities as may be appropriate and directed by the Residential Manager

Qualification, skills & knowledge

 Required Qualifications  Sincere dedication to the mission of the Queen of Peace Center  Minimum of an Associate Degree in the medical field with knowledge of substance abuse and mental health  Med. Tech Level 1 Certification, CPR and First Aid and Class E license  Intermediate computer and typing skills required

 Skills, knowledge and competencies  Knowledge of substance abuse and mental health is essential  Experience working in crisis setting with individuals and families  Experience in working effectively and respectfully with people from many different backgrounds  Proficiency in Microsoft windows and Outlook  Superb oral and written communication skills
