SCHOLARSHIP AND TRAVEL GRANTS ANNOUNCEMENT FOR

“A Seminar and Workshop on Cultural Tourism Management, marking the auspicious occasion of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s fifth cycle birthday anniversary”

1 – 3 July 2015 at Grand Postal Building, Bang Rak Bangkok.

International Affairs Office, Silpakorn University cordially invites academics, researcher, and postgraduate students from universities or institutions of ASEAN member countries to apply for a scholarship and travel grant for attending A Seminar and Workshop on Cultural Tourism Management, marking the auspicious occasion of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s fifth cycle birthday anniversary” on 1 – 3 July 2015 at Grand Postal Building, Bang Rak Bangkok.

To be eligible for selection, a candidate must:

- be an academic, researcher, and postgraduate student from a university or an institution of ASEAN member countries (excluding Thailand)

- be actively involved in the fields of cultural tourism management, tourism business, or ASEAN cultural and heritage conservation

- age between 22 – 50 years

- be able to advance expenses for their plane tickets, domestic transport and visa

- obtain approval from both the employing institution and home government training authority who must agree to the absence of the candidate

- have communicative English proficiency

- be able to join the programme throughout the whole period

- submit a portfolio and outline brief plan for cultural tourism management or ASEAN cultural and heritage conservation of his/her own country

Required documents: The application form should be completed in English and be submitted together with the following documents:

- Official letter from university (signed by the president or authorized body)

- A completed application form

- A copy of his/her passport

- Samples of publications or portfolio showing his/her involvement in the field of cultural tourism management, tourism business, or ASEAN cultural and heritage conservation

Application procedure:

- Application period is until 10 May 2015.

- Applicants may download the application form at http://www.plan.su.ac.th/Witeth/Main51.htm .

- Applicants are required to scan their complete application form and and required documents, and send them to MR. PRAPRUET SIWAYINGSUWAN [email protected] ATTENTION “ASEAN WORKSHOP SCHOLARSHIP”

(To be eligible for consideration, the application forms and required documents must arrive and be registered at International Affairs Office, Silpakorn University NO LATER THAN 15 May 2015.)

The late and incomplete applications will not be considered.

Selection procedure:

- Selection of applicants will be made by the Silpakron University Executive Committee

- List of those who win awarded the scholarships will be notified and announce at

Conditions of the scholarships:

- Registration fee waive

- Accommodation for 4 nights reserved by Silpakorn University

- Meals and coffee breaks throughout the stay during the seminar

- Museum pass and study tour fees waive - A return ticket (economic class/budget airline) from participants’ home country

- Thailand domestic transports (1200 baht)

Note: (1) Successful applicants must be able to advance their money for the return ticket and taxi in Thailand, and will get reimbursed when they report at the scholarship desk on the first day of the seminar.

(2) Successful applicants do not need to book their own accommodation as it will be reserved for you by Silpakorn University.
