Delyn Long (Dede) Joined the Shire Family in February of 2014 As US Marketing Lead, Elaprase

Delyn Long (Dede) joined the Shire family in February of 2014 as US Marketing Lead, Elaprase. Dede joined us from Abbott, where she was Global Head of Marketing Operations for the Animal Health function within Medical Devices. In August of 2014, Dede’s role was expanded and she now leads LSD marketing within the LSD/HAE BU, responsible for both Elaprase and VPRIV marketing.

Dede's career in life sciences began 20 years ago as a pharmaceutical sales consultant at Wyeth-Ayerst (now Pfizer). Achievement in sales earned Dede roles of increasing responsibility within a number of key functions: Commercial Training, Sales Leadership, Marketing, and Executive Operations, where Dede served on staff for two North America Chief Executive Officers within a Fortune 500 organization. Dede's background in Marketing includes both launch and life-cycle management at the Director level, with proven performance in all areas of professional and strategic marketing for multi-billion dollar brands in the US.

Dede received her undergraduate degree at the University of Mississippi and attended Executive Education programs at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business with emphasis in Global Marketing. She lives in Wellesley, Massachusetts, with her husband, Matt, and 5 year old daughter, Sydney.
