Question 1: Regarding instructional DVDs for viewing, would it be part of the LMS platform, request RAF to elaborate Answer 1: No
Question 2 There was an RFI released earlier for LMS. Companies who responded to that, will ONLY be considered for evaluation on this RFP? Or will they be given preference? Answer 2: Yes Question 3: Is it possible to extend the deadline of 25th June as it involves working with product principles for licensing? Answer 3: No Question 4:
Does RAF require a virtual classroom tool to be included in the Learning Management System to be provided? Examples of virtual classrooms are Webex and Adobe Connect.
Answer 4: Yes Question 5: Please provide the SAP ECC6.0 Enhancement Pack version and Netweaver portal version that will be in use when the LMS implementation takes place. Answer 5: Currently no enhancement packs are loaded on ECC6.0 (enhancement pack 6 will be loaded at a later stage as per requirement dependent on another project) and Netweaver current version is v7. Question 6: Page 77: Please give an example of how and under which circumstances 360 degree assessments will be used in a training context, as required by the following statement: "The LMS must allow for a 360 degree assessment tool capability in respect to skills." Answer 6:
The 360 degree performance appraisal is the start of a conversation between the manager and the team member. It is based around candid feedback collected anonymously from supervisors, peers and subordinates asking a few key questions. Its accuracy is tied to patterns of comments in response to each of those questions. Question 7: Page 77: Please explain what is meant by the following in bold: "The LMS should have its own sandpit and enable internal sandpits to be placed on LMS."
Answer 7: Sandpit is basically a playpen where staff can practice before taking any assessments on the live environment. Question 8 Page 74: All bookings are done by completing an external training application form, which is fully completed (date of training, the training provider cost) and recommended by the supervisor. This form is submitted to the learning and development department. 1. a. How do employees know for what training they may apply? 2. b. Is it a centralised or decentralised budget? 3. c. Should cost allocation be implemented?

Question 9 Is SAP Training and Events Management currently in use at RAF? If YES, how many business events (courses) are currently listed in the Business Events catalogue?
Answer 9: Yes Difficult to put an amount but at least over a 100. Question 11 Do you require us to propose consultants and do you require their CV's? Answer 11 Yes Question 12 How many Reference Questionnaire do you require to be filled out by our references? Answer 12 As indicated in the bid document on page 79 we require three questionnaire to be filled by clients
Question 13 Are you interested in Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) between yourselves and RAF? a. Can you explain what this entails?
Answer 13
Electronic data interchange (EDI) is a method for transferring data between different computer systems or computer networks. It is utilised for e-learning by exchanging learning materials, assessments. Talent Management Material, succesion management planning through the entire organisation.

Answer 14 Yes Question 15 LMS should be configured for internal workflows. - describe
Answer 15: Yes – It must meet the criteria to enable us to follow our documented processes. Question 16 System must generate reports on demand that talk to WSP and EE format reporting (training reports according to occupation, gender, race and disability status) - examples Answer 16 Yes Question 17 Adhering to the B BEE Standards - We are not aware of this clause. Are we eligible to participate
Answer 17 Companies can participate but taking note that the BEE part will be evaluated as per SBD 6.1 Question 18 Can all the documents be mailed via Internet as we are based out of India? Answer 18 The documents can be sent by a courier but they must reach the RAF before the closing date and time as stipulated in the bid document. Question 19 Does RAF have any suggested template/format in which the proposal to be filled. (in addition to the particulars asked by RAF, like the technical solution) Answer 19 No Question 20 Is there a tender briefing session for RAF/2013/00013 LMS that must be attended? Answer 20 NO Question 21 I have downloaded all related documents from the RAF website, but would like to find out if you are able to supply a requirements document for the LMS that needs to be designed/implemented, or if the successful bidder would be required to develop an LMS from the ground up.
Answer 21 Yes the successful bidder will have to develop the LMS from the ground with our input and guidance.
