COURT APPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATES OF ???????? COUNTY, INC PEER COORDINATOR-ADVOCATE AGREEMENT

Your CASA Peer Coordinator is ______.

Your CASA Designated Paid Staff Member is______.

Your CASA Peer Coordinator will provide coaching and support to you by:

 Assisting you with development of CASA case goals and ongoing strategies including the CASA Advocacy Plan

 Contacting you at least weekly for the first three months and subsequently at least once a month

 Conduct evaluations with you at 3 months and annually thereafter

 Assisting you with the preparation of reports

 Accompanying you at visits, court hearings and other agencies’ meetings when appropriate

 Notifying you of scheduled reviews and hearings regarding your case

 Informing you of in-services, conferences and seminars that will enhance your ability to serve as a child’s advocate and to ensure that you meet your requirement of a minimum of 12 hours of in- service training annually.

Your Peer Coordinator or paid staff will be available to assist you whenever needed. Call your Peer Coordinator or your paid staff during regular business hours Monday through Friday when:

 You are not sure how to proceed

 You need assistance with your reports

 You want to update your Peer Coordinator regarding new information

 You have been notified by another agency of a change in a scheduled meeting or other information

 You need a “sounding board” and/or an avenue to vent frustration  There is an emergency or crisis in your case (If your Peer Coordinator is not available contact a staff member)

 You are unavailable for your case due to a lengthy illness, family emergency, or plan to be out of town for employment or vacation for 7 or more days

 You are experiencing difficulty in your relationship with another professional, and need to explore conflict-resolution strategies

 If you need to speak to someone outside of CASA business hours, a paid staff will be “on-call”. Please refer to the CASA Monthly Email for the current staff member on-call

 Please remember you are required to report any suspected child abuse or neglect to DCPP by telephone at 877- NJ ABUSE (877-652-2873);
