IDAHO NATIVE PLANT SOCIETY

ANNUAL MEETING June 27, 2009

Annual meeting was opened by President Janet Benoit about 6:30 p.m. Saturday June 27 on the lawn at Boys House, a historical building in Harriman State Park, near Island Park, Idaho.

There were approximately 70 members present representing all chapters of INPS.

Minutes of the Annual Meeting June 21, 2008 were read. Motion to accept the minutes as written was moved and seconded.

Treasurers report was distributed to all and listed a comparison of 2008 Income and Expenses as well as 2009 projected and 2008 actual figures. The figures were actual through June 10, 2009 Income $ 6,048.69 Expenses $ 3,194.93 Net $ 2,853.76 INPS Assets: Key Bank of Idaho, 6/10/09 $ 9,981.27 Key Bank of Idaho 6 mo CD, 2/22/09 $ 2,901.50 Total $12,882.77 After clarification of entries, MOTION to accept by Allen Crockett, seconded by Peggy Harrer.

ERIG Committee , Michael Mancuso reported: Annual Funding 2009: $1,000 With three project requests: $ 400 Native Plant Riparian Buffer Demonstration Site: Pend Oreille River, public access near Dover, Bonner County, Idaho. Briefly, objective to educate, safeguard existing native vegetation, promote use of native plants in home landscapes and inform landowners how to protect water quality. Project request: $1,000 $400 Restore one-half acre Palouse Prairie along Latah Trail, east of Moscow,. Idaho. Objective: The prairie restoration would be open to the public, conserve biodiversity and provide educational opportunity about the Palouse Prairie. Project request: $1,000 $200 Explore Potential Hybridizing of Indian Paintbrush (Castilleja Christii, Orobanchaeae) Using Molecular and Morphological Techniques. This rare endemic species is only found atop Mt. Harrison, Cassia County, Idaho. , Objective: To determine the extent of hybridizing to benefit greater scientific and management communities, and as well as local Idaho botanical groups. COMMITTEE REPORTS, Continued.

Calendar Committee continues with gathering photos, interviewing printers, checking costs. More pictures are needed and will be displayed on INPS website at the end of July and judging will follow.

NEW BUSINESS

Annual INPS state conference for 2010 will be Heyburn State Park, south end of Lake Couer d’Alene , Idaho. More information as the year progresses.

Host for 2011 INPS state conference is Loasa Chapter.

Election of Officers 2009-2010 Presentation of Nominees: Wendy Velman, President Janet Bala, Vice-president Nancy Miller, Secretary Jody Hull, Treasurer Janet Benoit, Past –President Open - Member at Large Dylan Levy-Boyd Editor SAGE NOTES No additional nominees from the floor.

MOTION FOR NOMINEES AS OFFICERS FOR INPS, 2009-2010 made and seconded. ADOPTED

There being no further business, the 2009 INPS State Conference was adjourned about 8:00 p.m.

President Velman presented Thank You cards and gifts to Janet Benoit, President and Lois Rohay, Secretary.
