Position: Warehouse Manager Supervised by: Executive Director Supervises: Warehouse Associate, Warehouse Assistants and Drivers Status: Exempt

Job Summary: The Warehouse Manager is responsible for ensuring maximum efficiency and effectiveness of the Food Bank’s warehouse and transportation operation; product acquisition, storage and distribution; and the general maintenance, cleanliness, and organization of the Food Bank’s facilities, equipment and vehicles.

Areas of Responsibility: Operations 1. Manage processes for product receipt, storage and distribution 2. Manage acquisition of donated and purchased product; arrange transportation to the food bank 3. Implement cost effective systems that maximize food distribution and space utilization 4. Ensure inventory information is accurate, reliable and accessible; oversee accurate computer entry of inventory data to ensure uniformity and quality 5. Develop and implement efficient delivery schedules and routes 6. Have working knowledge of Feeding America warehouse practices and pertinent manuals and materials related to food bank operations 7. Perform duties of safety manager (food and personnel) 8. Ensure timely movement of stock 9. Develop corporate relationships with food, trucking and storage industries; encourage donations 10. Provide excellent customer service to agency customers 11. Deliver and pick up food, as needed

Facility and Equipment 12. Ensure warehouse equipment, vehicles and facilities are in good working order 13. Assure cleanliness of equipment, vehicles and entire facility 14. Assure compliance with safety standards, WI Department of Health, WI DOT and WI Dept of Agriculture regulation and with all Feeding America warehouse operations standards 15. Conduct or schedule preventative maintenance on vehicles as needed and comply with WI DOT regulations 16. Ensure maintenance of daily logs

Supervision 17. Supervise warehouse staff, senior aides and warehouse volunteers, including truck drivers 18. Manage to ensure quality performance including efficiency, productivity, accuracy and program improvement 19. Ensure the safety of all persons entering and departing the warehouse. Ensure the training and adherence of safe practices by all staff, volunteers and agency representatives working in or visiting the food bank warehouse Other 20. Promote team culture in all working relationships with staff and volunteers 21. Maintain positive relations with agencies, food bank staff, donors and volunteers 22. Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

Job Specifications:

Qualifications 1. Strong supervisory and management skills 2. Excellent interpersonal and relationship skills 3. Computer proficiency, especially with spreadsheets and database software 4. Ability to operate forklift and other warehouse equipment (prefer warehouse experience) 5. Ability and willingness to drive food bank vehicles

Working Conditions and Physical Demands 1. Hours: 40 - 48 hrs/week; Monday through Friday. Flexibility to work some evenings/weekends 2. Travel: Occasional out of town travel for meetings and pick up or delivery of food 3. Lift 50 pounds repetitively on occasion 4. Frequent lifting and bending; full range of motion in lower and upper extremities and use of back
