A highly motivated and confident multilingual researcher with extensive experience in European public policy and gender equality. Having accumulated extensive experience in designing, managing and delivering both undergraduate and postgraduate modules in social policy, I am now seeking new challenges in commercial research in European and British social policy.

Professional experience

2012 to current: University of Wolverhampton – Lecturer  Developing and delivering undergraduate modules in the faculty of Social Sciences including ‘Research Methods’ and ‘Social Policy in 21st Century Britain’.  Contributing to the university’s new virtual learning environment by creating and administering a number of online courses.  Coordinating and hosting a gender and social policy discussion group for students, academics and policy makers.  Writing successful funding proposals for a number of projects including the launch of the West Midlands Women and Social Policy Research Network, and an interdisciplinary conference on Gender and Health Policy in Europe held at the University of Wolverhampton in March 2014. 2006-2007: University of South America - Instructor in English for Academic Purposes  Teaching 1st year undergraduates subject-related English.  Planning and delivery of a programme of lectures and seminars.  Administration and conducting of examinations.

Jul-Sep 2005: College of Beijing, China - Voluntary Teacher  Teaching large groups of pupils (50+)  Adapting to a new culture and learning basic Mandarin.  Preparing students for Cambridge level 1 English examinations in reading, writing, speaking and listening.  Excellent creativity demonstrated by adapting to limited resources and classrooms.

2009- 2012: PhD Social Policy and Society, University of Wolverhampton  Thesis: ‘Women and social policy in Britain: work, family and the state’.  Textual/documentary analysis of policy documents triangulated with semi-structured interviews to investigate both class and gender equality considerations.

Activities and interests

 Voluntary work as the Trustee of Big Up Arts, a local arts project working with disadvantaged teenagers.  Currently represent Walsall and the West Midlands area at competition level in women’s football.
