Grade 6 Vocabulary Unit 2 Word List Vocabulary: Create a Cornell Notes sheet headed “Vocabulary Unit 2”. For each vocabulary word, you will create an entry that includes: 1) A pronunciation key (the word divided into syllables) 2) The part of speech 3) The definition NOTE: a. if there is more than one meaning, you must have multiple definitions in your entry (you can find them all at wordlywise.com)
b. if a vocab word has more than 1 part of speech, you must include a full entry and definition for each one (For example, Affection (n. and adj,): you would create an entry for affection (n.) and another entry for affectionate (adj).)
4) 1-2 synonyms 5) 1-2 antonyms
Make each vocabulary entry neat, well-organized, complete and easy to read. Leave space between entries.
For definitions, parts of speech and pronunciation, students should go to www.Wordlywise3000.com. Select Student, your Book and Lesson.
Use Dictionary.com to locate synonyms and antonyms.
