MEMBERS ABSENT: All present.

I. OPENING OF THE MEETING

A. Call Meeting to Order The regular meeting of the Kings County Behavioral Health Advisory Board was called to order by the Chairperson. B. Introductions There was a brief introduction of Board members, staff, and guests. II. UNSCHEDULED APPEARANCES None.

III. CHAIRMAN UPDATES

Approval of Minutes The minutes of February 22, 2016 were presented to the Board for approval. Joe Neves made a motion to accept these minutes and Rene Solis seconded. All were in favor.

2016 Board Officers The Chair presented the nomination of Joe Neves as the 2016 Chairman and Pat Oliver as the Vice Chairman of this board. Debra made a motion to accept this nomination and Sanja seconded. All were in favor.

IV. SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS The membership committee has reached out to the District Attorney’s office to fill the law enforcement position on this board as well as the Department of Education. They will bring back news of any new membership applications to this board. Behavioral Health Advisory Board March 28, 2016 Page 2 of 2

V. MENTAL HEALTH/SUD/BH UPDATES

Kings View/Central Valley Suicide Prevention Hotline Barbara Breen from Kings View offered a presentation on the Central Valley Suicide Prevention Hotline, including statistics, history and current info regarding the hotline.

Champion’s Recovery Alternative Programs, Inc. Douglas Robertson, Administrative Services Officer of Champions, offered a presentation on Champions’ programs that are funded/partially funded by Behavioral Health along with information on other programs that they offer.

VI. KINGS COUNTY COMMUNITY UPDATES

Ken Baird discussed four new active subcommittees of the Suicide Prevention Task Force. These include the depression screening, community engagement, intervention oversight and data collection and reporting subcommittees.

Debra stated that the Comp board will be releasing the new Data Notebook on youth very soon.

VII. KINGS VIEW UPDATE Marla Seykora presented on the Homeless Program at Kings View.

VIII. OAK WELLNESS CENTER UPDATGE Debra stated that the Speaker’s Bureau is looking for new participants as well as locations/meetings/events for the speakers to participate.

IX. ADJOURN The meeting adjourned at 1:32 p.m.

The next board meeting will be April 25, 2016.
