One parent or guardian from each family MUST volunteer for one hour each week unless you are a teacher. Please sign up on the Class Registration page online for which hour you would prefer to volunteer. This is not a guarantee you will receive that time, but only a request we will do our best to fulfill. Parents will not be assigned to a class with their child. Teens may not substitute for a parent’s hour, but they may volunteer for Community Service Hours. Please let us know this when you come to a payment/orientation day so your teen can be assigned a volunteer schedule. Exact volunteer assignments will be posted on the LIGHT Information Board at the church as well as throughout the foyer.

Please arrive on time for your volunteer class. Volunteers will take attendance, assist teacher with basic instruction when asked by the teacher, help the teacher maintain control of the class, and accompany children to the restroom. Some volunteer positions are helps with set-up, clean-up, and snack sales. If you are assigned this, please let us know of any physical restraints that may hinder you.

Each person is responsible to secure a substitute if they will be absent, whether planned or last-minute, and the Volunteer Coordinator must be notified of the change. Childcare for children 0-35 months is available during a teaching or volunteer hour. To sign up for this, please select it as a class on the Class Registration page online, just like any other class.

PARENTAL REQUIREMENT TO BE ON CAMPUS Children must be under the direct supervision of a parent or guardian at all times. If a parent needs to leave the campus, they must let a committee member know so they can add the emergency contact information to the child’s nametag for that time period. Any parent not able to be on campus on a regular basis is still responsible to register as a family and is still responsible for the weekly volunteer hour. (Children cannot be registered under another family.) Please fill out the appropriate section of the Signature page if your child(ren) will regularly be in the care of another adult because you are not there. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD IS AWARE OF WHO THE ADULT IS THAT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEM!

CONDUCT Our goals are first and foremost, glorifying God and pursuing Godly character (Psalms 86:12, Phil. 4:8, Col. 3:23). It is because of this that we ask everyone to abide by these rules of conduct so that everyone’s efforts to glorify God can be clearly witnessed.  Enrichment Coordinators reserve the right to dismiss any child whose behavior is detrimental to the best interest of the other children or the program.  Harming, harassing, threatening, or intimidating a student or adult may result in immediate dismissal from the program.  No Heelys, no skating, no running. Shoes are to be worn at all times except during a class requiring no shoes.  Students are not to bring to class any type of electronic device, toy, personal valuable, or material that distracts from the learning environment.  Due to the limited space and close proximity to classes in session, children and adults in the foyer/waiting area must keep all noise and distractions to a minimum.

ABSOLUTELY NO SICK CHILDREN WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE BUILDING. If your child is sick or showing signs of sickness, please do not bring them to class or even in the building to drop off other children. Please find someone to watch your sick child(ren) in the car while you sign in your other child(ren). If everyone is courteous in making sure to take steps to not infect others, fewer people will be sick, and the illness is not spread anymore. Please be kind by not spreading germs.

DRESS CODE Modest attire is required at all times of adults and children. Adults and children are NOT required to wear a LIGHT t-shirt, but it’s ENCOURAGED for several reasons. It is exciting to be a part of the group and show your support & excitement by wearing your LIGHT attire. It is also easy to get children dressed on enrichment mornings if it’s a routine to wear their LIGHT shirt! Last, it’s helpful to the group and community in order to reflect that modesty and make it easier on all who may define modesty in different ways. Shorts and skirts should be a modest mid-thigh or lower, and no tight fitting skirts, shorts, jeans, or pants. Boy’s shorts or pants must reach high enough to not see any portion of underwear.

BUILDING USE In all things, please treat the church facilities as though visiting a guest’s home. Unless volunteering, parents and siblings not in class at the time must remain in the foyer. Smoking, drugs and drug paraphenailia, alcohol, weapons including pocket knives, are prohibited inside and in the surrounding areas of Cornerstone, including the parking lot. Absolutely no food or drink in the sanctuary, at any time, ever. No food in any classroom, unless as a part of a class and pre-arranged by the teacher. No gum chewing by parents or students.

VISITORS In order to maintain the security measures in place, please refrain from bringing visitors, including other children to the enrichment campus. In the case you do need to bring someone to the campus, all visitors must report immediately to administration to let administration know they are there, check in, and receive a name tag. Anyone not wearing a lanyard or nametag will be assumed trespassing and proper measures will be taken.

FOOD There is to be no food or drink in the sanctuary at any time, ever. Snacks, water bottles, and other drinks will be available for purchase throughout the day.
