Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Target Audience This program has been planned for Alliance Behavioral Healthcare staff engaged in clinical review, consultation, care coordination, and activities related to consumer access to clinical services. Program Description This program will focus on a discussion of the structure and use of Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) as an Evidence Based Practice with individuals seeking treatment related to trauma. In the session, we will review the treatment model and consider the populations who benefit from the approach. Through this dialogue, we aim to support clinicians less familiar with TF- CBT in bettering their understanding of the approach, and to encourage clinicians familiar with TF-CBT to share their perspectives based on direct experience. Speakers Michelle Roach, LPC received her Masters of Counseling from Loyola University Chicago, her Masters of Divinity from Duke Divinity School and her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia. She has experience working as a part of an Integrated Healthcare Team at Baptist Hospital at Wake Forest University and in community mental health as both an Intensive In-Home Team Lead and Outpatient Therapist. Michelle now works as a MH/SA Care Coordinator with Alliance Behavioral Healthcare specializing in children who are placed in Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities. Moya Foster, PhD, HSP-P is a graduate of the school psychology doctoral program at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Having mental health training and career experience in hospital, community, school, and corporate environments over the past 14 years, Dr. Foster currently works for Alliance Behavioral Healthcare (MCO) as a Senior Psychologist.
