First Aid Training Unfortunately we are no further forward here as all the council courses currently available are full. This includes one due to run next year, these courses fill up very quickly.
Thank you to Robert and Hazel We have decided that a gift made by the school children would be the best way to thank Robert and Hazel for their kindness over the years with free ice cream. Ideally this would be done during Golden time at the school. Mr Moody will discuss this further with the children and then we can decide exactly what to make. Mr Moody
Transport for School Trips
Sonia is yet to write a letter regarding increased funding for our Sonia Bruce transport costs.
Head Teacher’s Report. Shall be emailed Treasurers Report
Mark was not present to discuss.
Parent Council Budget
Mr Moody has a number of requests for use of the current budget.
- He would like £200 approx towards the junior librarian computer programme. The school also needs about £300 yearly to keep the books updated in the Library. It would be great if the DSP could fund this yearly.
-IT equipment is still a key priority for the school. A school camera and video camera are key needs. It would also be beneficial if pupils had new headphones for their laptops (approx 24 sets headphones)
A playpod is still a possibility but not until next year will this be looked at in detail.
Orchard – Outdoor Learning Development Group Fundraising
Jane Hogg was able inform us that we raised £1344 at the tea tent during Dirleton Fete and Games. The Dirleton Fete and Games Committee very kindly doubled this so we have a total of £2688. Jane Hogg We are looking at the children creating a thank you card to show our appreciation. As well as this we felt it would be appropriate to inform the Committee of where some if not all of this money shall go. We are quite keen to put money into the Library to keep it fresh and up-to- date.
Jane shall also have a stall at this year's Christmas Fayre. Jane shall be selling Phoenix products and making a donation to Dirleton Primary from her profits.
Halloween Party
A big thank you to Mandi Hodgson and Jo Hood for running the Halloween party. It was a big success. With the £16 left from the party funds, new decorations were purchased for next years party.
Ideally we would like a Fundraising Team, if anyone is interested please get in touch.
We will also be having our coffee mornings once a month in order to socialise with the community but also keep baking requests to a minimum. ELAPCM Nothing to report. Can anyone attend the next meeting on the 26th November as Nat can't attend. Nat Spring
CPPM Lynne Kilcullen Jim Goodfellow was not at the latest meeting. We shall follow this up. Miranda Mayes
Do jo points and Certificates of Achievement
We can confirm that all pupils should receive dojo points and at some Mr Moody point each child will a receive a certificate of Achievement when appropriate. Staff are always encouraged to make sure that awards are distributed fairly. It has also been raised that all children should be able to stand in front of assembly to receive praise for their dojo points. Sometimes this is difficult as a large number of children can have gained awards in any given week. So decided if a large number they stand up in their place for DOJOS But always come out for certificate of achievement AOB
Carols on the green shall not take place this year due to the poor turn out last year.
Future Meeting Date
