GADSDEN STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE NOTICE OF AVAILABLE POSITION September 8, 2016 ADULT EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR [INITIAL BASE: AYERS CAMPUS] THIS IS AN AT-WILL POSITION FOR WHICH THE ATTAINMENT OF NON-PROBATIONARY STATUS (TENURE) IS NOT AVAILABLE. [Continued employment contingent upon funding] ♦ Bachelor’s degree in elementary or secondary education or related field QUALIFICATIONS from a regionally accredited institution required ♦ Master’s degree preferred ♦ Current Teacher Certification in Elementary or Secondary Education preferred ♦ Effective oral, written, and interpersonal skills ♦ Knowledge of Gadsden State Adult Education and general College policies and procedures ♦ Commitment to adult education and training for individuals who lack sufficient prior education ♦ Commitment to the teaching-learning process of the community college and the open-door admission process DUTIES ♦ Teach Adult Basic Education, GED Preparation, and Employability Skills. ♦ Provide career development guidance for Adult Education students for academic and technical programs. ♦ Assist current and prospective students with career exploration activities and career assessments. ♦ Provide prospective students with information regarding the current job market and trends in career choices. ♦ Comply with all policies of the Alabama Community College System and the College. ♦ Perform other duties as assigned. PROJECTED STARTING DATE October, 2016 SALARY State Salary Schedule “D-3" - $18,720 – $37,440 (9 months); based on education and experience. Additional summer employment may be available.
