PHILIP BARBOUR HIGH SCHOOL BAND BOOSTERS March 13, 2007

The regular monthly meeting of the Philip Barbour Band Boosters was held on March 13, 2007. Jean Daddysman, president, called the meeting to order. Minutes of the last meeting were read. Dennis Riccio made a motion to approve the minutes, with Susan Anglin seconding the motion. Motion approved. Lilah Phillips gave the treasurer’s report. Proceeds from July through March 13 at the Junior Fire Hall Bingo are $1,118.82.Also, $551.10 went to student accounts from the Coke Sale. Melissa Flint made a motion to accept the report with Becky Walker seconding the motion. Motion approved.

It was sadly noted the Kayla Sturm’s father passed away. The band will send flowers.

ANNOUNCEMENTS AND REPORTS: 1. Thirty-four students participated in the Avon fundraiser selling $4,012.61 worth of items. 40% of this total will be placed in those students’ accounts. Pick-up of the orders will be on March 19th. 2. Home Interior orders will be due on March 22nd. Proceeds will go to individual accounts. 3. The Sub fundraiser will begin on March 27th. Orders will be due on April 17th with delivery on April 25th. Proceeds will go to individual accounts. Ron Jones volunteered to help with separating orders. 4. The spaghetti dinner will be held on April 1st. Allison Iapalucci went over the schedule of workers. Over 600 tickets have been sold. Fliers advertising the dinner will be made. Susan Anglin and Lisa Heinbaugh are in charge of ordering supplies, etc. The back entrance of P.B. will be used. Students will bus the tables. Nice items are needed for the silent auction. 5. The next Boyd’s Bear Bingo will be held on April 22nd at the Philippi City Building. Persons are asked to donate $10 for the resin figures. 6. Thanks were extended to all those contributing recipes for the cookbook, to the typists, and to Lilah Phillips for organizing the cookbook. 7. Other fundraisers discussed were: serving concessions for an auction in Junior on March 31st. Patty McPherson, Melissa Flint, Christy Cross, Marsha Harris, David Canny, and Caleb Jones volunteered to work at the event along with members of the majorette line and percussionists. Melissa Flint also suggested a pie sale for later in the year. 8. Composite Band Pictures should arrive any day. 9. Those needing to update emergency info should see Sharon Cross. 10. Purse Bingo – Susie Higgins has checked into this fundraiser. The company is not condoning or stopping these types of events. Mr. Iapalucci will need to talk with Mr. Tenney about the stipulations. If this does not work out, a Boyd’s Bear or Basket Bingo will be held on June 10th. Christy Cross made a motion to carry out one of these bingos on that date with Patty McPherson seconding the motion. Motion approved. 11. Rayetta Moore suggested contacting Mylan Pharmaceuticals or Pepsi for possible donations for the Philadelphia trip.

MR. IAPALUCCI: Mr. Iapalucci reported that all plans for the upcoming Atlanta trip are going well. All trip money is due by March 21st. Also, any spaghetti ticket money is due by March 21st if students want $1.00 per ticket that they have sold.

Mr. Iapalucci will send a Bingo note next week. He will also need a deposit for next year’s Philadelphia trip sometime soon.

The next meeting will be April 17th at 6:30 p.m.
