Volunteering Rules and Rewards

The survival of the club will depend on its members that wish to volunteer their time to the running and non- rewarding activities of the club. To reward and show appreciation to the members willing to devote their time to club there will be proportionate awards. The clubs volunteering rules and rewards scheme is set out to ensure that advantage is not taken over the volunteers’ generosity and to make sure that the volunteers receive more back out of the club than those who haven’t volunteered.

Rewards

1. End of year Clubman Award (Trophy Provided) – Nominations for a club vote on the Clubman Award must have attended a minimum of 10 volunteering dates. 2. Team Events – 50% of the weighting to be included as part of any Club Team Entries as a rider will be on club volunteering attendance. A percentage of club volunteering dates attended will be worked out and divided in half to produce the members weighting for volunteering. E.g/ 10 available dates top member attends 8 giving him 80% attendance figures divided by 2 gives the member 40% in his overall score towards becoming a team member. The other 50% of the weighting will be decided by race results at National Championships then Regional and so on as detailed within Club Rider Ranking Details. Successful Club Team Members will then also have to attend every Club Team Volunteering Event/Fundraiser. 3. Only club members who have volunteered at least twice before a Club Only Practice/Training Day will be allowed to attend the event. 4. Club members who have volunteered at least four volunteering dates leading up to a Club Race Event will have first choice to an entry and a £10 deduction in entrance fee.

Rewards/Dates can be transferred from one club member to another (e.g/ a member who can’t ride or a member without a bike attends a volunteering date and wants to transfer that date attendance to a son or friend than can ride). Rewards/Dates may not be transferred in bulk to defer club decisions or manipulate the Clubs Volunteering Rules and Rewards Scheme. (i.e. various members transferring dates to a member at request or for payment to gain entry to an event over other volunteers.)

What Qualifies

Club Volunteering Dates that can be included as attendance for the Club Volunteering Rules and Rewards Scheme are:

1. Attending meetings (non-club meetings) on behalf of the club and providing feedback to the Club (in form of minutes, notes etc.) 2. Attending Track/Venue Work Parties. 3. Attending (as an organiser/promoter/helper) club fundraisers. 4. Attending Training Seminars on behalf of the club. 5. Attending race events or general events for or on behalf of the club as a Clerk of Course, First Aider, Marshall etc. 6. Attending a Club Team event as a Helper, Organiser, Outrider or Transporter.

“on behalf of the club” is to be decided upon by the club management or its members prior to the event.

Objections Objections to this scheme, decisions within it or the management of it may be brought forward during a Club Formal Meeting. This point/objection could then be put to a club vote at the discretion of the member that bought the point/objection forward. Voting procedure and rules would follow the Club Rules.
