1.4 08565-2 SUBMITTALS

4.A. Submit under provisions of Section 01300.

4.B. Product Data: Provide manufacturer's standard details and catalog data demonstrating compliance with referenced standards.

4.C. Shop Drawings: Include window schedule detailing sizes, glazing types, muntin types and designs, window elevations, sections and details for each project condition, and multiple window assembly details.

4.D. Selection Samples: 4.D.1. For each finish product specified, two complete sets of color samples: Minimum 1 inch by 4 inch (25 mm by 100 mm) samples of PVC with integral color representing manufacturer's full range of available colors and patterns. 4.D.2. Glass, showing available tint colors.

4.E. Verification Samples: 4.E.1. For each finish specified, two color samples: Minimum 1 inch by 4 inch (25 mm by 100 mm) samples of PVC with integral color, representing actual product, color, and patterns. 4.E.2. Glass showing specified tint colors.

1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE

5.A. Manufacturer Qualifications: Minimum 5 year experience manufacturing similar products. 5.A.1. Minimum five years experience in producing vinyl windows of the type(s) specified. 5.A.2. Participant in good standing in nationally recognized certification and labeling program. 5.A.3. Member National Fenestration Ratings Council (NFRC).

5.B. 08565-3 Installer Qualifications: Minimum 2 year experience installing similar products.

5.C. Overall Standards: Comply with AAMA/WDMA/CSA 101/I.S.2/A440, except as otherwise noted herein.

5.D. Regulatory Requirements:

5.E. Certifications for Insulated Glass Windows: 5.E.1. AAMA: Windows shall be Gold Label certified with label attached to frame per AAMA requirements. 5.E.2. NFRC: Windows shall be NFRC certified with temporary U-factor label applied to glass and an NFRC tab added to permanent AAMA, Keystone or NAMI Certifications frame label.

5.F. Mock-Up: Provide a mock-up for evaluation of surface preparation techniques and application workmanship. 5.F.1. Finish areas designated by Architect. 5.F.2. Do not proceed with remaining work until workmanship is approved by Architect. 5.F.3. Refinish mock-up area as required to produce acceptable work.

1.6 PRE-INSTALLATION MEETINGS

6.A. Convene minimum two weeks prior to starting work of this section.

1.7 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

7.A. Deliver and store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging bearing the brand name and manufacturer's identification until ready for installation.

7.B. Handling: Handle materials to avoid damage.

1.8 PROJECT CONDITIONS

8.A. Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's recommended limits.

1.9 SEQUENCING

9.A. Ensure that products of this section are supplied to affected trades in time to prevent interruption of construction progress.

1.10 WARRANTY

10.A. 08565-4 Manufacturer's Residential Special Warranty: 10.A.1. 7.B. Grids shall be contained within the airspace of insulated glass units.

2.8 INSECT SCREENS

8.A. Provide tight-fitting screen for operating sash with hardware to allow easy removal. 8.A.1. Frame: Roll formed aluminum with rigid plastic corner keys. 8.A.2. Screen Cloth: 18 by 16 charcoal colored fiberglass mesh secured to frame by flexible vinyl spline.

2.9 FABRICATION

9.A. Fabricate frames and sash with mitered and fusion welded corners and joints. Trim and finish corners and welds to match adjacent surfaces.

9.B. Factory exterior glaze with snap-on PVC glazing bead stops matching interior sash and frame finish, except where field glazing is required due to large window unit dimensions. Units shall be reglazable without dismantling sash framing.

2.10 FINISH

10.A. Frame and Sash Color: White.

10.B. Frame and Sash Color: Almond.

10.C. Frame and Sash Color: Adobe.

10.D. Color match screen frame to frame and sash color.

10.E. Exposed surfaces of all members shall be clean and free from all but minor surface blemishes. Finish of all vinyl (PVC) members shall comply with AAMA 303 for surface finish and dimensional stability.

2.11 SOURCE QUALITY CONTROL

11.A. Inspect windows in accordance with manufacturer's Quality Control Program as required by the applicable certification program.

PART 3 EXECUTION

3.1 EXAMINATION

1.A. Examine openings in which windows will be installed. 08565-25 1.A.1. Verify that framing and substrate comply with AAMA 2400, ASTM E 2112 or AAMA/FMA 100 requirements. 1.A.2. Verify that fasteners in framed walls are fully driven and will not interfere with window installation.

1.B. Coordinate with responsible entity to correct unsatisfactory conditions.

1.C. Commencement of work by installer is acceptance of substrate conditions.

3.2 INSTALLATION

2.A. Install windows in framed walls in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations, AAMA 2400, ASTM E 2112 or AAMA/FMA 100 and applicable building codes.

2.B. Install insect screens on operable sash.

2.C. Do not remove temporary labels.

3.3 PROTECTION

3.A. Protect installed products until completion of project.

3.B. Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.

3.4 ADJUSTING

4.A. Adjust operating sash and hardware for smooth operation and tight fit with weather-stripping.

3.5 CLEANING

5.A. Reference Section 01740 - Cleaning and Waste Management.

5.B. Remove temporary labels and retain for Closeout Submittals.

5.C. Clean soiled surfaces and glass using a mild detergent and warm water solution with soft, clean cloth.
