How did you become involved in the Committee? Sharon Murphy, also a former Chair, sent out an email asking for volunteers.

What do you consider your biggest accomplishment as Chair? Getting lots of help from lots of people.

What was the committee's biggest accomplishment while you were Chair? Our National Seminar in Chicago.

What is your favorite committee memory or experience? Getting to know Todd Seelig, Mike Fish, Leonard Nason, Sharon Murphy, Mark Baugh and others, getting the College of Workers' Compensation off the ground, and getting TIPS support for our free standing seminar.

How did you become involved in the Committee? Through my law partner.

What do you consider your biggest accomplishment as Chair? Getting monthly phone conferences back on track to increase involvement and planning.

What was the committee's biggest accomplishment while you were Chair? Increased involvement of the current members and establishing structured plans to increase membership as well as a plan to strengthen chain of leadership.

What is your favorite committee memory or experience? Committee dinner's in general, specifically in D.C.

How did you become involved in the Committee? Former Chair, Mark Baugh, invited me to attend a committee meeting at the ABA Annual Meeting in Atlanta.

What do you consider your biggest accomplishment as Chair? Spearheading a joint effort with the Labor & Employment Section’s Workers Compensation Committee to put on a three day National Conference in Phoenix, Arizona.

What was the committee's biggest accomplishment while you were Chair? Our committee authored a Report and Recommendation opposing the Universal 24 Hour Health Coverage of workers’ compensation medical benefits. After the Report and Recommendation was approved by TIPS Council, it was voted on and approved by the ABA House of Delegates and became official ABA policy.

What is your favorite committee memory or experience? Socializing with my committee friends in Puerto Rico including a bioluminescent lagoon kayaking trip, a tour and party at the Bacardi Rum Factory, and salsa dancing with the locals during an earthquake.

How did you become involved in the Committee? I was in the leadership of the Section before my practice focused on Work Comp. I was aware of the committee and knew some of the prior leadership - especially Hervey Levin.

What do you consider your biggest accomplishment as Chair? Bringing in new and old leadership and helping to create the College in conjunction with the Labor Law Section and the plaintiff's group.

What is your favorite committee memory or experience? Having leadership meetings with 10-15 committee members participating in the discussion.

How did you become involved in the Committee? I joined to the Committee in order to contact other workers’ compensation lawyers nationally.

What do you consider your biggest accomplishment as Chair? Putting good people in a position to succeed.

Bill Levasseur Chair in 1985-1986

How did you become involved in the Committee? Had experience with Federal Longshore Law and asked to speak on panel. My paper was published in the TIPS Law Journal. Joined TIPS and remained member.

What do you consider your biggest accomplishment as Chair? First Workers’ Compensation National Institute. It was presented both in California and New York. We still have some records for this program.

What was the committee’s biggest accomplishment while you were Chair? The National Institute allowed us to recruit many of those who participated as long term members and placed our Committee with other TIPS Committees on the important mag-- so to speak.

What is your favorite committee memory or experience? Being involved with the ABA Washington day to promoting the ABA position on MSA. We had bi-partisan participation and we were well received. I did this twice and would do it again if asked.
