Real Estate Tax

All owners of real estate in the township are required to pay real estate taxes to the township, Delaware County, and the William Penn School District. All real estate taxes in Lansdowne Borough are collected by the elected tax collector, Joseph Urban.

Township

The total tax rate for the 2010 calendar year is 10.85 mils of assessed valuation. The tax is broken down as follows:

One mil is equal to $1 of tax for every $1,000 of assessed property value. To calculate your tax, multiply the millage figure by your assessed property value. Don't forget to add 3 decimal places to the millage figure to get the accurate tax. For example: a 5 mil increase on a home assessed at $20,000 amounts to 0.005 x $20,000, or $100 more in taxes.

Delaware County
