If you would like to request a seat for one of these certification classes, please e-mail Brenda MacFarlane at [email protected]. Include the participant’s name, complete mailing address, phone number and the location of the class they would like to attend. If requesting a seat for the CDL Examiner class, please also include the participant’s driver’s license number. The participant’s name will be placed on a waiting list. Approximately six weeks prior to each class, the participants will be chosen based on the need and number of requests we have received. At that time, letters will be mailed to confirm attendance in the training class. Individuals who are not selected will also be notified.

Please be aware that class participants must be fully certified as a school bus driver in New Mexico. We prefer one year of school bus driver experience in New Mexico before attending the SBDI training class. It is required that a person possess a CDL with P & S endorsements for three years before attending the CDL Examiner class. Also, new participants will not be allowed to be dual certified as an SBDI and as a CDL Examiner. The cost is $200.00 per participant.
