“A new way to have fun with your dog” Wag It Games was founded on the principle of building a better relationship between dog and handler. It focuses on teamwork, connection, communication, and confidence building. It also incorporates a variety of skills from several existing sports, such as rally, agility, obedience, and nose work, which adds new skills to you and your dog’s repertoire. These games are tailored towards the dog owner who is looking for new ways to have fun with their dog beyond the basic obedience class.
Wag It Games Workshop
Two hour workshop will introduce you to the exciting new sport of Wag It Games and an opportunity to experience several exercises from four of the Skill games: Shadow, No Need for Speed (NNFS), Dog Ball and Sniff It Skill. Sampler Class is a five weeks which will give you more in depth exposure to the exercises introduced in the workshop plus more. A little more information about the 4 skill games Shadow Skills – This is a combination of rally obedience and canine freestyle moves. Learn how to direct your dog to follow you through a course and shadow your movements. Exercises include heeling both on the left and right side, spins, crosses, backup, and pace changes. Improve your obedience skills while building keeping it fun and interesting for both you and your dog. Shadow Skills Montage No Need for Speed Obstacle Skills – Navigating through this course does not involve speed but rather the ability to perform challenging obstacles through teamwork. Exercises include jumps, hoops, mini-tunnels, the step bridge, the ladder, cavalettis, mat games, activate easy buttons, bang-it board, ride the scooter, retrieve, and more! No Need For Speed Skills Montage Sniff It - This is a simplified version of canine scent work. We begin working with finding the food scent, and then begin to introduce finding the handler scent. The dog will alert to the handler when they find the container/human scent, each dog develops their own style. Sniff It Skills Montage Dog Ball - This is a fun sport where dogs use their nose or shoulders to drive large balls into a pen. We focus on forming foundation skills that include a variety of nose targeting, exercises Teaching the dog "Spot" position targeting, teaching directional cues, orienting to you, and using nose pushes to drive the ball in your direction.
