Coaching Biographies: 1. Chuck Russo: 15 yrs. at Chanel, #1 assistant, overall record 234-65, undefeated (26-0) State Championship in 1999, 3 State Final Four appearances, 11 North Coast League Championships, 12 District Finals in 13 seasons, 8 Regional Finals, 83 straight NCL Conference victories from 1995-2001, Coached CYO early in his career at St. Martin of Tours School and St. Columbkille, has extensive experience in coaching AAU teams. 2. Mel Coleman: Head Division 1 Coach at Norfolk St. University, Varsity High School Coach at Weirton Madonna HS, Toronto HS, Wintersville HS, Lorain Admiral King HS, and Maple Heights HS. Numerous Coach of the Year awards in his career. 3. Bob Nance: Had a stellar High School basketball career including All-Star Player and MVP honors. While in college Bob made the All Tournament Team. Mr. Nance has been profiled on WEWS News and in the Call & Post Newspaper. In 2005 Mr. Nance was recognized as Man of the Year. Coach Nance is also the recipient of a Letter of Recognition from Mayor Frank Jackson for his community involvement. Bob has been the trainer of many Division 1 and Nationally Ranked High School Players. Many past and current NBA players have attended Bob`s training sessions. He is the founder of the Bob Nance Basketball Academy and Partner and Director of Training for The Cleveland Basketball School. He has over 20 years of training experience. 4.Steve Mehalik: New Head Boys Basketball Coach- 5 Years as assistant varsity coach at Brecksville HS under Coach Dave Bielak. Played basketball at John Carroll for Coach Mike Moran, Exciting young coach 5.. Eric Flannery: 12 years as Head Coach, Record 202-61, State Champions in 1998, Five Final Fours, Eight District Championships, Has coached over 10 Division 1 athletes, of which, two (Sam Clancy and Steve Logan) became college all-Americans. Coached Jawad Williams who went on to start for the National Champion North Carolina Tarheels. Coach Flannery has the most wins in St. Edward HS basketball history and is the youngest coach in Ohio to win a D ivision 1 State Championship.
